BenQ Acquires Zowie Brand and Renews Product Line
December 10, 2015 BenQ announced the purchase of the Zowie brand, well-known among professional gamers, which the company will now use as its main brand for e-sports products.

Immediately after the announcement, BenQ announced a small rebranding: new devices under the Zowie brand will have a red logo on a black background, which corresponds to the company's new red and black color scheme.

In addition to rebranding, it was also announced that all Zowie gaming mouse models will now receive new, lighter Omron switches, instead of the ones currently used by Huano. These switches were one of the few drawbacks of Zowie mice, as they are thought to be not very suitable for quick clicks. A 16-speed wheel will also be used.
