Canon launches its first CISS printers
Canon on Monday announced the release of G Series printers with an integrated CISS refillable with ink from bottles (instead of disposable cartridges). Novelties - Pixma G1000, G2000, G2002, G3000 - so far will be available only in the Indian market.
Earlier, only Epson (the Factory of Printing / Ecotank series is already sold all over the world ) produced home inkjet printers with branded ink containers , and in the spring Brother introduced similar devices (only with refillable cartridges).
G1000 (~ 9,200 rubles) is a simple A4 printer with a single interface - USB, model G2000 (~ 10,500 rubles) - an MFP based on the G1000, an MFP G2002 (~ 11,500 rubles), compared to the 2000th it has an additional black an ink container, and the G3000 (~ 16,200 rubles) differs from the G2000 in the presence of Wi-Fi (prices are converted from Indian rupees at the Central Bank rate today). A bottle of ink will cost about 500 rubles (black for 7,000 sheets, color for 6,000), which provides a price for a color print of about 20 kopecks (according to Canon).
All new items have a print head with 1,472 nozzles and a minimum droplet size of 2 picoliters, and also support borderless photo printing (unlike the younger Epson devices that are not officially designed for printing photos). At the same time, the obviously poor functionality of the representatives of the new series (even 3 of 4 models lacks Wi-Fi!) Copies the positioning of similar machines from other manufacturers. For example, Epson printers with CISS are the most non-functional and extremely expensive. As planned by the company, this pays off with the cost-effectiveness of printing.
For example: the cheapest Canon printer with separate ink tanks (i.e., the PG is part of the printer) the Pixma iP7240 has Wi-Fi, automatic duplex printing, a PG with a minimum droplet size of 1 picoliter. It can be bought in Moscow for 4,500 rubles.
Detailed descriptions of the new Canon printers and MFPs can be found on the Canon India official website . Soon, devices will appear in Russia under model numbers G1400, G2400, G3400.
CISS on new Canon has a non-standard layout of donor containers: black is on the left, separately, color containers are on the right. Under the top cover of the printers are standard large necks for refilling the system. Ink type - combined: black pigment (for text) + colored aqueous dyes (used to print images).
