Almost open letter to Uber
On the Play Market, I basically do not comment on the program, and it's not just about the application. Therefore, I offer the public my wishes and suggestions for the Uber travel service. To make it truly popular, in my opinion, a few little things are missing.
Site
When you access Uber.com from the “Russian Internet”, the site by default displays content in Russian. What is the undoubted gut. However, when you try to enter “Moscow” in the “City” field, nothing happens. Okay, enter “Moscow” and see what happens next.
Let's try to calculate the approximate cost of the trip, for which we enter the street names. The system accepts Russian-language names, already good. But there are no drop-down hints with the completion of the word, as well as the ability to “poke” into the map to indicate the start / end points. And this is in the twenty-first century. Moreover, judging by the inscription on the map, the Google engine is used, in which the described features are probably implemented.
Localization
Lame. It seems that different people worked with the site and with the mobile application. In one place, the history of travel is called “My trips”, in another - “History”. In the mobile application, the item “Promotional Codes” is placed in the main menu, on the site it is hidden in “Payment”. But it's nitpicking, and the highlight of the program
What do you think should be regarded as such a clue: “Place of departure. Go to the badge ”? I was dumb for quite some time. The place of departure is WHERE you are leaving. But why then is it written “Go to the badge” next to it? In principle, you can figure it out with a poke method, but first you get naturally stiff.
Payment and financial matters
As you know, without linking at least one bank card it is impossible to register. Which is quite logical, but also not without its oddities.
Firstly, a transaction to write off a trip fee is sometimes late (in my case, by a few hours). This is surprising, since any organization is interested in the fastest way to receive money for its services.
Secondly, in case of an unsuccessful payment (no money, the bank blocks transactions from the Netherlands etc) a notification about this appears in the personal account on the site. Well, even in the “History / Trips” section, opposite to the card number, an imperceptible inscription appears: “0.00 rubles written off”.
Comrades, well, even if I’m not a swindler and I monitor the status of my account, everything happens. The ruble on the map may not be enough. Well, notify me of this promptly, please! And then the system will consider me a recidivist and when it is necessary to rush to the airport, it will not let me order a car.
Thirdly, the system of re-debiting (in case of unsuccessful payment) is very peculiar. Suppose you did understand that the trip was not paid. And it happened through your fault. Replenished the card (or tied another, with money). Do you think the transaction will be repeated automatically after some time? Not. Who cares - write a difficult recipe on how to initiate this process.
In the mobile application, go to the “History”. Choose a ride. Click “Need help?” (Already non-trivial, right?). There we click “Revise the cost of the trip” (warm greetings to the localizers. And where does the cost?). And there we already click “Invalid payment method”.
Enter the last four digits of the card number from which you want to write off the money. Interestingly, you can enter the number of the same card that was used initially (if you replenished it and want to repeat the payment). The result of these ceremonies will be the formation of an internal ticket, a repeat transaction and a specialist response (by email).

After reading the article, it may seem that I'm terribly unhappy with Uber. Not. I like him. Cars arrive, support works quickly, they monitor the jambs. By the way, this is also why I decided to write this treatise - maybe it will go to someone on the table and everything will be corrected.
And I have only one wish for a mobile application: make the possibility of a delayed comment on the trip. Suppose I arrived at my destination and the final receipt appears on the smartphone with the amount and driver rating. Poking 1-5 stars is not a long thing. But there is still a field for additional comments, which I, as a caring person, cannot miss! As a result, I stand on a column in the street, freeze my fingers and write what I did not like / liked the driver. But if you could first give an assessment, and then, in the warmth, an hour later to explain your opinion - that would be great.
