RoboHunter at 3D Print Expo 2015

An incredible and one-of-a-kind event specializing in modern printing technologies - 3D Print Expo - was held in Moscow on October 8-10 and opened the doors for all professionals and fans of 3D printing. RoboHunter is very glad that he was able to attend this bright event . We managed to see the industry's latest innovations, get to the fashion show and attend the award ceremony of the best representatives of the 3D printing industry.



 
Moscow Exhibition Center Sokolniki is a huge platform. You come in - and you cannot choose the direction of movement. As a result, you move in a circle, examining the stands of the participants. Each tells about his equipment: for example, BestFilament demonstrated its own equipment for the production of filament. The Chinese company offered a very interesting printer that prints without heating. It works quietly, which I liked. But I was not pleased that the manufacturer does not have a dealer on the Russian market.



It is impossible to get away from the stands empty-handed, especially when companies present new materials for printing and offer samplers and samples.



U3Print approached this in an organized way: in advance, they all distributed, packaged and signed. They presented a heavy-duty PLA thread that softens at high temperatures.  

The developments of the young company REC looked very promising, and in general, only positive emotions remained from communicating with them. The team generously offered to try their new type of filament with a unique filler. To resist such a pleasure was simply impossible.

But the eSUN booth offered positive plastic in granules, which softened from hot water - it could be molded like plasticine.

The joint booth of PrintProduct and 3Devyatoe did not hand out plastic samples, but gifts for boarding school children.



There were other activities for children. For example, the First Moscow Olympics in 3D-technology, which took place on October 9. The students participating in it were satisfied. But those who do not live in Moscow said they would also like to take part in such a competition. The organizer can only convey this wish to Roman Bondarenko and the 3D Education Association, thanks to which this competition was held.




In general, among the participants of  3D Print Expo 2015  it was possible to meet industry giants such as  Picaso 3D , the  SPETSAVIA team  with its development - a construction printer, DAVID and Marvel Distribution.



Many young exhibitors visited the exhibition: Top 3D Shop; iGo3D Russia; BE in 3D.ru; RuSky Group-SLM; TWIZE Rec 3D and others.



Some of the best representatives of the industry performed at the lecture: Vladimir Popov, representative of Head of Laboratory Institute of Laser and Information Technologies, Russian Academy of Sciences; Benoit Jaubert, Project Manager, FIVES GROUP.

The topics that were raised at the exhibition touched upon aspects of the application of 3D technologies in various fields, here they spoke about the development of prototypes, analyzing this process from and to.

Well-known experts in Russia also performed: Andrei Isupov, CEO, developer and one of the founders of Picaso 3D; Sergey Pushkin, head of the thematic portal 3Dtoday. Some no less famous Marco Bruni (PR-manager of BQ and a specialist in his field) was fortunate enough to communicate in the exhibition area.



The first day of the exhibition began with the solemn part - the presentation of the 3D Print Awards for achievements in the field of 3D technology . It was immediately evident that the number of applicants increased and competition increased. Experienced market participants have successfully competed with companies such as RangeVision; Moscow factory FDplast; LLC 3D KON; NISSA Digispace LLC; IMPRINTA; BQ; Shenzhen Esun Industrial Co., Ltd and others.

The best domestic manufacturer was Picaso 3D, the best media portal - 3DToday.ru. 3D Scan Winner - DAVID. The newcomers were awarded the Imprinta company, and the Irwin team with the Magnum 3D printer received the award in the Brand of the Year nomination.



Among the winners was Pavel Podsednikova - shoe designer. The models that she made using 3D technology were exhibited at the stand, and also participated in fashion shows.







What did 3D Print Expo show us today? This is more than an exhibition of various printers. Each company is its own separate industry (medicine, construction, jewelry manufacturing, cooking).

For example, the scope of 3D images - souvenirs and figures of a new generation - represent "Be in 3D!" and other companies.



















Prixel from St. Petersburg decided to print exact copies of the paintings, reproducing all the details, strokes and textures. Petersburgers remain true to the motto: "Art is eternal."

We were also pleased for the winner of the 3D printer. Dmitry Kulagin was lucky to become the proud owner of Imprinta's Hercules Strong.



We can say with confidence that the number of companies has increased, the quality of finished products has also improved, and many interesting ideas have appeared. Printing technology is definitely gaining popularity in Eastern Europe, where innovation does not take root right away, and this is a great success.



And we are already looking forward to 3D Print Expo next year!
