A smartphone with a powerful battery. DEXP version: 10 models from 4,490 to 13,990 rubles, from 3,000 to 5,200 mAh

Hello! After my activity in the comments on this post, I received a personal message from DEXP representatives with a proposal to write a summary review of their line of smartphones with powerful batteries. I’ve been doing gadget writing for about 10 years, during this time, well ... 300 pieces of different devices have passed through my hands. There was even the first Microsoft phone - Kin One (which came out in a limited edition of 500-2,000 copies a few years before the purchase of part of Nokia’s business). Perhaps I was almost the only owner of this rarity in the former USSR. Or the first laptop from Nokia - there was such a BookLet 3G model, which won neither fame nor popularity.

In general, in smarts and other gadgets I understand something ... And I am pleased to get acquainted with new products, understanding their features. And in the case of DEXP models, it was just necessary to understand, um, I don’t know who invents the names for these smartphones, but this is really a very creative person. Highly. Creative. So to say, "free artist." And the names of models, as a rule, can tell us only the diagonal of their screens, and even then not always. So ... In general, I poked around, poked around, a slugger tested the samples given to me and made up such a guideline. You should not consider this a classic review with a description of the buttons - such text can be found, for example, at the link above. I made just a general brief description of the DEXP line - the only Russian line of smartphones with powerful batteries. Such a description should help those

Immediately I express my opinion on the products manufactured by DEXP. I can’t say that these smartphones are simply perfect in everything - ordinary models of a local brand. With a typical level of quality and a typical, um, lack of design. But if the models of other local brands usually do not have any highlights at all, then powerful batteries are available here. As for me, this is better than a small thickness or metal in the case.

At the end of this post, at my personal insistence, a brief overview of the main competitors of DEXP models is added. To say that only DEXP makes smartphones with powerful batteries would be a frank jeans. And so I insisted on adding a pivot to the end - descriptions of the main competitors in the "big-battery" segment.

So, with the preamble and background of the material finished. Well, let's get started. Android from version to version is getting better, but the main drawback of this OS is gluttony to battery life - Google has not yet overcome it. Yes, Android M allegedly will have another autonomy improver called Doze, but ... Previously, Android introduced Project Volta technology, which pursued the same goals, but there’s not much use for it. How smartphones worked on average an day - they work. (I’m glad if your device specifically works for a couple of days, not a day, but that doesn’t change the essence of the matter.) There is also little hope for developers of chipsets with their gradual reduction in the technical process. Because after a decrease in the process technology, for some reason, they reduce the battery capacity ... Take the same Samsung Galaxy S6: it received a 20-nanometer processor, while its battery is weaker than that of the Samsung Galaxy S5. In general, I’m all for what: the only method at the current level of technology development for real (and not on paper) increasing the battery life of a smartphone is to equip it with a powerful battery. The method, of course, is to some extent primitive, "grandfather", not very technological, but really effective.

This is a screenshot of a survey on w3bsit3-dns.com - visitors were asked what they were willing to sacrifice for autonomy. As it turned out, they are ready to sacrifice dimensions and weight without problems. As I understand it, when creating their smartphones with a powerful battery, DEXP sacrifices this, well, a bit more appearance. And on my own I will add that no one wants to sacrifice money, especially during the crisis. And the cheaper the long-lived smartphone is, the better. DEXP has options priced from 4,490 rubles, while the most expensive flagship models go for 15 thousand. On average, most models cost up to the top ten.

The only problem is that there are really few smartphones with a powerful battery on the market. The so-called A-brands on this topic do not bother (the exception is Lenovo, but it also has a couple of mid-range models. Moreover, their prices are still from 14-15 thousand rubles), second-tier brands also offer a maximum of one or two apparatus, considering the segment of smartphones “long-livers” niche and unpromising. Against this bleak background, the Vladivostok brand DEXP stands out. Her smartphones with a powerful battery are almost elevated to the rank of cult - there are already ten of them in the current DEXP Ixion line (ten, zehn, dix, and so on). No one else has - simply because nobody deals with this topic precisely.

And where, it would seem, are the marketing departments of 100% of global and Russian companies looking ... It seems to be on the table where there are pieces of paper with analytics that need constant review. And next to the papers at the white-collar workers of the capital, which are related to the smartphone market, there are completely sixth iPhones (or even sixth plus), constantly connected to sockets ... But autonomy is really a problem of Android, a much more common and “popular” operating system . And it is especially acute in budget devices that ordinary people from regions sweep away from the shelves, where salaries are not at all Moscow and some Lenovo P70 for 15-16 thousand rubles seems simply unacceptable luxury. Ordinary people in the vastness of our country for the most part do not sit in offices with hundreds of outlets, they work in fields, workshops, schools, military units, and so on - in a word, where there are few or no outlets. Apparently, the Vladivostok guys from DEXP turned out to be closer and more obvious than their Moscow colleagues. After all, the brand itself has left the regions, and therefore, it has several views on the market and the needs of consumers, we will say so, different.

But enough of the lyrics! We proceed immediately to the facts and figures. Below are the characteristics of all smartphones with a powerful battery in the current DEXP Ixion line. And even lower, I will go through all these models and see what makes them so interesting.

Pictures from the official presentation of DEXP. It is quite clear from my point of view.

Unit No. 1 (we will consider the entire lineup as an army, huh!): From 3,000 to 4,000 mAh

DEXP Ixion X 4 '' for 4 490 rubles

The most affordable and the smallest smartphone with a powerful battery in the DEXP Ixion line. So to speak, a basic level. A tiny 4-inch smartphone by today's standards with a 3,000 mAh battery - batteries of this size have never been seen in such small models by today's standards. The most greedy developers put 1,500 mAh into such "miniature" devices, the most generous - 1,700-1,800, which is also not very impressive. ( proof- just look at the battery capacity of the first few dozen models). And they - these same developers - prefer to use old and frail 2-core processors in such small smarts. Meanwhile, DEXP Ixion X 4 '' is a 4-core. This means that you can play it. The same Asphalt 8 comes even with maximum graphics settings. Although, of course, on the screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels you can’t see all the beauties.

DEXP Ixion P 4 '' for 9 990 rubles

Also 4 inches, also 4 cores, the battery is no longer 3,000, but 3,200. And the price is two and a half times higher. Why is that? Yes, just look at the picture - the device is protected, but in production such models are by no means cheap. Because the assembly of such smartphones requires at times more careful control over the accuracy of fitting panels. Actually, DEXP Ixion P 4 '' is protected according to the IP67 standard - this means that it is not afraid of water and dust. Well, I’ll also venture to suggest that after the fall he will also survive, although compliance with the MIL-STD-810 specifications is not exhausted. Just the plastic and rubber in the case of this model are really more durable than in a regular smartphone. Yes, and one more thing. Typically, protected devices with approximately the same specs (4 cores, 4 inches, a battery in the region of 3,000 mAh) are more expensive - for example,

DEXP Ixion X250 OctaVa for 13 990 rubles

Relatively budget smartphone with a powerful battery and the maximum possible "minced meat." 5 inches, Full HD, 8 cores 2 GHz, 2/16 GB RAM / ROM, 13 + 2 megapixels - and also 3,000 mAh. Why not 4,000 and not 5,000? Because it was a sin to make a budget flagship two fingers thick. And, nevertheless, the DEXP Ixion X250 OctaVa still stands out from its peers. Because the latter (also with Full HD-screens and a 2-gigahertz MediaTek MT6592T) usually have batteries with a capacity in the region of 2,200. For example, this is the exact battery from Highscreen Hercules. And Hercules lives less than a day. But the “Octave” is able to work 24 hours. Speaking of the name: OctaVa - this is not only because of the 8-core processor, but also because of the expanded musical capabilities. They are quite advanced, given the presence in the smartphone of a dedicated audio chip from the American Wolfson.

Division No. 2: from 4,000 to 5,000 mAh

DEXP Ixion ML 4,5 '' for 4 990 rubles

The cheapest smartphone on the market with a powerful 4000 mAh battery - it sounds powerful. And he is the longest-playing of all, since everyone has 4-core processors, and here it is just the same economical and simple 2-core. The model, as the name implies, is a 4.5-inch model. In general, a workhorse without frills, without showing off, but with a weekly autonomy and an extremely affordable price tag - there is nothing more to add.

DEXP Ixion ML 4.7 '' for 6,490 rubles

Despite similar names, the DEXP Ixion ML 4.7 '' differs from the DEXP Ixion ML 4.5 '' not only in diagonal. The camera resolution was raised from 5 to 8 megapixels, the processor was set to 4-core instead of 2-core. But the battery was left unchanged at 4,000 mAh. In general, this device works a little less, but it is better suited for toys. Yet 4 cores are 4 cores.

DEXP Ixion EL150 Charger for 6 990 rubles

Everything is more serious here: 4,500 mAh. And not just 4,500 mAh, but with the ability to "distribute" this energy to other devices. In other words, the 5-inch DEXP Ixion EL150 Charger is a hybrid of a smartphone with a powerful battery and just an external power bank. It is supposed to charge other phones, players, and so on with the help of an OTG adapter with a USB port, which, however, will have to be purchased (100 rubles costs, not more).

DEXP Ixion XL145 Snatch for 7 490 rubles

The most “cool” in the Vladivostok line smartphone with a powerful battery. Snatch ("Big Jackpot") - the so-called cult film Guy Ritchie. The goblin translated it in one word: "s ***." Alas, this word is not recommended to be used in decent society without dropping. This, in principle, is a fairly transparent hint that DEXP took Highscreen Zera S Power and dopped it ... well, not to perfection, because it does not exist. And, let's say, to a better condition. They installed an 8-core processor instead of the 4-core one at Zerea, finalized the front camera software to shoot better in the dark, and instead of an anonymous 5-megapixel camera, they put an 8MP OmniVision module. The result is a 4.5-inch DEXP Ixion XL145 Snatch with 4,000 mAh batteries and other specs that have never been found in similar devices before.

DEXP Ixion X 5 '' for 10 990 rubles

If you doubt about the DEXP Ixion X250 OctaVa with its 3,000 mAh, then here is another 5-inch smartphone with a Full HD-screen and an 8-core processor (though MT6592 is 1, 7 GHz, not MT6592T at 2 GHz like the Octave) - and already with 4,000 mAh. True, other characteristics are a bit simpler: the “Octave” has 2.5D DragonTrail glass, and here it has the usual mineral one, the Wolfson audio chip in the DEXP Ixion X 5 '' is not. But the battery, I repeat, is more powerful.

Division No. 3: from 5,000 and above

DEXP Ixion Energy for 14,990 rubles

Actually, if the DEXP Ixion X 5 '' with its 4,000 mAh was still not impressive, then here is an alternative model with 5,000 mAh. And also - with a 5-inch Full HD screen, covered with Gorilla Glass 3, an 8-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera on Sony Exmor IMX214 module. As a bonus - the same function of the external battery: you can “light” other portable devices. For example, iPhone.

DEXP charges iPhone 6

DEXP Ixion ML2 5 '' for 8 990 rubles

And finally, the record holder of the line of smartphones with powerful batteries - DEXP Ixion ML2 5 '' with its gigantic 5,200 mAh. More than a week of work for a device with a 5-inch HD screen and a 4-core processor - nowhere more serious. And I also note a very high-quality 13-megapixel camera, even with a separate shutter button. This does not happen not only in smartphones for 8,990 rubles, but also for 20 thousand. An exception is some Sony models with ... weak batteries :)

To summarize

Actually, this is all that DEXP offers today in the topic of smartphones with powerful batteries - all 10 models for every taste and color. There are state employees, there are middle peasants, there are flagships, there is a secure device and there are even PowerBanks of different volumes. In general, choose - I do not want. Well this is not one or two smartphones, like the others. Plus another important point. Due to the fact that DEXP is owned by DNS, in the retail chain of the same name DEXP smartphones are sold almost without extortionate markups typical of these networks. Therefore, DEXP devices are 15-20 percent cheaper than analogues. An illustration of this situation is the DEXP Ixion XL145 Snatch and Highscreen Zera S Power. The first is cooler in terms of processors and camera, and costs 500 rubles cheaper: 7,490 against 7,990 rubles.

In the comments, I suggest speaking on the topic of how you see the ideal “large-battery” smartphone. Or, perhaps, such a device was found in the DEXP line?

PS Well, as I said above, in order to dilute this somewhat ginous article, I personally insisted on adding competitors. To complete the picture. So it will be correct, despite the fact that the post was written on the initiative of DEXP. Competitors have solutions with larger batteries, one or two per brand, but still. Among the most prominent and interesting, of course, I note the Lenovo P70 with 4,000 mAh. It costs 16 thousand, while offering an HD screen (alas, not Full HD!), A modern 64-bit 8-core processor, nice design and much more. In general, everything is great, but also expensive.

Fly Energy 5 for 6,500 rubles - a cheap 5-inch version with 4,000 mAh. The only thing that bothers you is the amount of RAM: with 512 MB (for comparison: all DEXP models have 1 or 2 GB) you can’t play games anymore, and the brakes in the Android environment are provided. However, if you want exactly the cheap 5-inch device, then you can try.

Highscreen Boost 2 SE has one interesting feature - it comes with two batteries: 3,000 and 6,000 mAh. But he has a couple of problems. The first is that the model is quite elderly: it was released back in February 2014, that is, a year and a half ago. And she managed to become pretty outdated - one Android 4.3 is worth it when all analogs have a more modern Android 4.4. It’s also worth noting that the back covers of this smartphone are scratched very quickly. Moreover, the battery cover for 6,000 (by the way, the cover is very creaky) makes the device very thick - like one and a half fingers.

Highscreen Zera S Power, as mentioned above, is a clear prototype of the DEXP Ixion XL145 Snatch. It costs more (7,990 rubles for “Highscreen” versus 7,490 for DEXP), for specs a little worse (4 cores instead of 8 for “Big Kush”, a 5 megapixel camera instead of 8 for “Sp *** li, etc.)

And finally, I’ll say about Philips Xenium V387 for 11 thousand rubles. The most important thing is the 2 GB RAM, which, of course, is nice. And the rest is practically an analogue of DEXP Ixion ML2 5 '' for 9 thousand: the filip has the same MT6582, a 5-inch HD screen and so on. Unless the battery is weaker: 4 400 mAh (for DEXP Ixion ML2 5 '', I recall - 5,200 mAh). Whether or not an overpayment of 2 thousand rubles is worth it for a more “branded” smartphone is up to you. But regarding the once popular and hyped Philips brand, I can say that for many years now, the Chinese company CEC has been manufacturing devices under this brand. And in quality they differ little from smartphones offered in Russia under domestic brands.
