Volvo introduced a family car with a child seat instead of a passenger seat

For wealthy parents, the Swedish car company offers an improved version of the seven-seater SUV XC90: a four-seater car in which a passenger seat will occupy the passenger seat in the front row. A new option is a modified version of the Lounge Console concept introduced by the company earlier this year. In the Lounge Console, the passenger seat next to the driver is occupied by a combination of a desktop, footrest, TV and shoe cabinet. Volvo's goal is to reduce fatal accidents by 2020. The company works with unmanned vehicles - the first customers will receive test copies by 2017. Volvo, on the other hand, thinks about child safety. According to a Volvo study

Children of all ages must have special seats. Children under the age of three to four should ride backwards due to weak neck muscles and a disproportionate size and weight of the head to the body. Volvo equips cars with boosters for children.

The cradle for the child is installed on the podium. It can be deployed towards the door to make it easier to put or get the baby. In the podium under the cradle Volvo offers to store things you need on the road - bottles, jars, diapers and toys. The parent will be able to maintain eye contact with the baby.

In 2014, Volvo celebrated its “fiftieth anniversary of caring for children.” In 1964, the company introduced the Volvo PV544 with a child seat, in which the child sits with his back forward.
