Maker Faire 2015: giant shooting robots and other interesting exhibits
In California, San Mateo, the next in a row robotic show Maker Faire . This time, the organizers of the show celebrate a decade, and the reason is not only an anniversary. The fact is that over the past ten years, Maker Faire has grown from a local event to an event worldwide. Now dozens of robots are participating in this show, which look very impressive.
One of the most interesting participants of Maker Faire 2015 was MegaBot: a huge crawler-mounted robot that shoots at its owner’s displeasure. True, he shoots with paint, but there is so much of it that it’s enough to paint the car (by the way, one such little car was “painted” to demonstrate the capabilities of the robot).
Naturally, the light did not converge on MegaBot. The participants showed other projects, many of which were no less impressive than this gigantic robot.
The robot shoots with such shells at a speed of 180 km / h. It’s quite a formidable weapon.
Below are the most memorable exhibits participating in the current show. Maybe one of the representatives of the Habrasociety was at this exhibition and can tell about his own achievements?
In addition to robots, other exhibits were presented at the show, including consoles and other systems from Raspberry Pi and other elements. In general, it is safe to say that the anniversary Maker Fair was a success.
This is a mobile home. It moves slowly, but confidently.
On this console, the platform for which Raspberry Pi serves, you can play during breaks. The
robot cooks and eats (Sereneti)
It doesn’t look like a robot or anything technical at all, but the author of the “project” is clearly fun :)
