Chinese government plans to install 3D printers in all elementary schools in the country

Education is one of the areas where 3D printers can deliver the most. Officials in some countries are considering the possibility of deploying such devices in schools and universities. A small part of educational institutions is already equipped with 3D printers, but the proportion of such institutions is vanishingly small. The main problem is the cost of one device, pricing for printers now ranges from $ 400 to $ 3,000. In addition, teachers in most schools have very limited time that they can devote to working with printers. Plus, the need to deliver spare supplies for the printer. All this creates a problem, because of which a 3D printer in school (and university) is still a rare occurrence.
Nevertheless, China intends to solve all these problems in one fell swoop by providing 3D printers to all the country's primary schools. The number of such schools in China is 400 thousand. According to Simon Shen , CEO of Kinpo Group, China intends to implement this plan in two years.
It is worth noting that now more and more 3D printers are being produced. According to the forecast of the agency Gartner, this year about 217 thousand devices will be shipped . Next year, about 434 thousand devices will be shipped. Perhaps this forecast is not even optimistic enough - it is likely that more printers will be produced.

The 3D printer market is growing faster than analytical agencies predict. Now they are also thinking about plans to equip schools with 3D printers in the USA, but China decided to become the first in such a project.
It is possible that printers from XYZprinting, priced at about $ 500, will be supplied to schools. The offices of this company are also located in China, so there should be no problems with the supply of devices. For the company, cooperation with the authorities is a good chance to increase production volumes, and, accordingly, profits.
