Microsoft gives OneDrive 100 GB Dropbox users

Microsoft continues the “ride of unprecedented generosity” by giving away free disk space on OneDrive. Last week, 100 GB was given to everyone who joined the Bing Rewards program . And now a new offer: a 100 GB bonus (for 1 year) is offered to Dropbox users .

Unlike the previous deal, the new offer applies not only to US residents, but to all users, regardless of country.

Microsoft ad: “Drop the box - transfer photos, music and documents to OneDrive”

For the sake of this, you can also create a Dropbox account who does not have it.

There are several additional conditions. Firstly, only the first 10 million people who apply can apply for a bonus offer.

Secondly, the bonus is not valid for OneDrive for Business customers.

To get 100 GB, you need to go to the bonus page and log in using your Microsoft account.

After that, the OneDrive app will request a standard permission to access personal information.

OneDrive will also verify that you really have a Dropbox account. To do this, log in there and upload the “Getting Started with OneDrive” PDF file to your Dropbox folder.

Once the PDF file has been successfully downloaded, you will be redirected to the confirmation page with the message “Your bonus storage was successfully applied!". The so-called “Enthusiast bonus” - 100 gigabytes of extra space - will be added to your account.

Now OneDrive offers 15 GB free to all users, but the 100 GB bonus will definitely not be superfluous, although it is given for only 1 year. After that, additional disk space will have to be paid at standard rates. Now 100 GB costs $ 1.99 per month.

Apparently, the current offer is part of a deal between Dropbox and Microsoft. They entered into a cooperation agreement in December 2014. Perhaps Dropbox even gets a certain reward for each "lost" user.
