Unmask: Emotional Respirator

In China, a respirator is worn due to polluted air, in Japan - so as not to catch the virus, in Moscow - while peat is on fire. Designers have created a mask concept that allows using an LED display to demonstrate emotions to others.

The only minus of the mask is the limited social interactions, the inability to demonstrate their emotions. Designers Simone Rebaudengo and Paul Adams solved this problem by demonstrating the concept of a Unmask respirator with an LED display that can show four kinds of emotions: neutrality, surprise, smile and kiss.

For the manufacture of the device used Arduino board, LED-display and several other components. They do not plan to commercialize the device yet, this is a half-game, half-social experiment. Perhaps in the future, designers will make masks from other materials and with more portable components.
