Smart home based on iRidium in Skolkovo residential neighborhoods

Our blog was resting for a while, so there will be several posts about what happened “while he was sleeping.” This year began for us with the start of the project, which wonderfully symbolizes the direction of movement of private multi-unit construction. Demand in the market is not that it is growing, so developers are looking for ways to improve housing with a minimal increase in the budget.

On January 31, Viktor Vekselberg handed the keys to the first residents of the Tetris quarter in Skolkovo. The quarter is distinguished by the presence of a home automation system in each apartment: lighting, climate control, leak control, resource accounting and intercom system.
The integrator is IBC Solutions. iRidium is used in every apartment, the owners will be able to use the i3 lite application to monitor and control all functions on iOS / Android / Windows devices (although for the first demonstration apartments they chose the more familiar version of iRidium adapted for the operating system version in room touch panels).

This is one of the (so far) few projects whose developers have understood an obvious trend: the use of an automation system in each apartment can be cheaper (for example) for plumbing, but it has an extremely positive effect on sales. The budget is minimal, but all welcoming speeches begin with words about the Smart Home, visitors to demo apartments ask first of all how it works, paying little attention to the rest. And leaving the 30-meter apartment they say “small, but cool!”, Instead of the usual “well, not bad, but crowded.”

The functionality in each apartment is pretty basic:
    - (most important) passive safety functions (control of leaks, etc.) and accounting
    - intercom - access door and apartment
    - climate and lighting control

This is available initially from the central intercom panel (2N and BAS-IP brands are used), at the request of residents, they also use their devices for control (i3 lite application).

The possibility of expanding functions includes:
    - connecting to the system of the Management Company (balance, announcements, repair requests, etc.)
    - managing AV and household appliances (Samsung Smarthome and other modules available in the iRidium store ).

Then there are just a few photos from the opening:

Well, the author, suddenly someone is interested =)

There are a lot of different things on the market now, so we are of course asked, “Why use your product specifically?”. There are about a hundred factors, but two come to the fore:

    1. The use of iRidium in such projects exempts from binding to any brand or automation protocol, leaving the freedom of choice to the integrator and users.
    2. The ability to develop the system without pulling the integrator is also worth a lot: you can edit scripts, create simple schedules in i3 lite yourself.

In the end, a small prediction, not distinguished by originality. Judging by the number of requests that we receive, the use of any of the Smart Home systems in apartment buildings selling finished apartments will become the de facto standard in 2-3 years.
