I ordered it with Ebay in the option "frame + brain + regulation + motors + prop." At the time of purchase, I already had control equipment, video transmitters, an FPV camera, and a battery. Quadrocopter frame.
The whole frame is carbon, made in my opinion very high quality and accurate. The quadric beams are made of 3 mm carbon fiber, which makes the frame really beautiful and the rest of the parts are made of 1.5 mm carbon fiber. Connecting sleeves aluminum. In this frame, everything is perfectly designed for the location of the controller, video transmitter, camera, etc. Also, the upper part of the frame opens to access the inside of the quadric and configure the controller. Very comfortably!
Controller.
The kit included a CC3D controller. I didn’t know anything about him, because all the time I flew on the Naz. But apparently, it's time to get to know each other. Actually for FPV it is an excellent controller. A lot of different settings and a very nice software interface.
Engines and regulators.
Here, of course, we did not have to wait for special accuracy and quality. When setting up the controller, a menu pops up with the setting of the motors, namely the "minimum speed of the motor." In other words, moving the slider from the leftmost point to the right, we must go to the point where the engine starts. So for these engines, this point is stretched by 10% of the slider. First, the engine starts to twitch ... and only then, when we add enough power, it starts, and at a speed that is almost enough for takeoff.
I put something in between jerking and starting. As a result, when launching a copter, it happens that not all engines start immediately, some twitch. But I solve this problem with a small “rebase” and they start. In short, for the money, this is a small problem. The main thing is that it flies.
Propellers.
This kit came with carbon propellers. The only thing I would like to note here is almost excellent balancing and workmanship. Understanding that on this quadric I’ll break more than one set of prop, I decided to order a few more sets of plastic at a hobby. And of course, after flying on large copters, I was very pleased with the price of propellers: 69 rubles per pair (without delivery). So it is very budget.
Power wiring board.
Regarding this board, I’ll tell you how to handle it (sequentially) - the package arrives, we get the board, open the bin, throw the board away. In reality, she worked for me for 15 minutes and that’s all ... more than the copters showed no signs of life. I had to disassemble everything, throw it out and collect everything the old fashioned way. So when buying such a quadric, it is better to use another one or do everything on twists.
PS you can also additionally buy just such a board * (this is the bottom quadric board with power wiring). But keep in mind that if it cracks, then the quadric will no longer fly.
First flights.
I equipped this quadrocopter with the following “details”:
1. Camera for FPV * on 700tvl.
2. Video receiver and transmitter *at 200 mw 5.8 ghz with clovers. Remained from previous models. In the future I plan to buy something normal, because with a stated distance of 2 km they work with clovers for a maximum of 200-250 m. Therefore, if you take something like that, take 1000 for that and 2000mw.
3. The control equipment I have is turnigy 9xr with the Frsky DJT module. on feet, etc. I did not fly because there is nothing to compare with, but I like:
4. Well, the glasses. In fact, their choice is a separate issue, since there are many options, they are expensive, but there is no way to touch them. Once I visited a friend in the first Fatsharks. I liked it, but I don’t remember it for a long time. And they cost at least 20 thousand rubles. Having no desire to spend so much money, I settled on the Quanum DIY goggle V2 FPV helmet . The video helmet is a case in which a 5-inch screen and a Frenkel lens are installed. It is an excellent replacement for glasses, taking into account the fact that it costs essentially 4 thousand rubles. I took version number 2, because it has a “case” in which all this “boxing” is inserted and it is all worn over the head.
Now about the flights.
The behavior of the quadric is quite predictable (and this is good). Even at default pid settings, he behaves very smartly. In addition, I thought the cap mounted on the copter would break on the first crash, but no, it holds blows well enough, etc.
The flight time in mixed mode was 9 minutes 30 seconds. At a temperature of 6-7 degrees. C. With zippy 3s 2200mah 25c battery. The good news is that the FPV camera in low light goes into "night vision" mode. That is, roughly speaking, you can fly in the dark and see the picture at a distance of 2-3 meters.
Well, the copter's backlight, I’m not very smart here. I just bought a piece of LED strip and soon I will test the quadrics for night flights and scare passers-by. :) In general, a very interesting and fast animal!
