Novelties of the Internet of things: what does Samsung have?
Recently, everything on the Internet of things market appears more and more offers from various companies. Samsung was one of the first to develop this plot, but now that Google , Apple , and Microsoft have already trampled there , it’s time to remind ourselves that they did at IFA 2015. Korean company managers, unlike competitors, prefer not to buy companies related to IoT, and offer all interested developers to participate in the creation of a smart home concept based on generally accepted standards.
At the IFA 2015, smart sockets connected to the control center (hub) were presented. Nothing out of the ordinary, standard solution, but that’s where it all starts. Such a socket costs $ 55 and it went on sale only in the USA, and will appear on the European market next month.
The new Samsung SmartThings Hub has been updated and equipped with a more powerful processor that allows for video monitoring and has a backup battery that can work up to 10 hours in the event of a power outage. The video monitoring system allows you to access the live broadcast at any time, recording video in case of unforeseen actions, such as movement at the front door.
The most unusual item of all was a sleep analyzer. Unlike all wearable devices that are not always comfortable to sleep with, this analyzer is mounted under the bed and analyzes your sleep. The company claims accuracy of 97%, which of course is impressive. The cost of this device is not yet known, in the official store it is not.
Samsung did not stop only at smart homes and talked about a partnership with Volkswagen and BMW. For example, in the new 7-Series, navigation and control takes place from the TAB-S2 tablet.
Using the MirrorLink mode, connecting Samsung’s mobile devices to most cars will be a matter of seconds: the company added a car mode for all the latest models (it was once on a number of flagships, now it will be everywhere). You can connect a phone and see all the information on a standard car system, or you can just use your phone.
Now let's see what the competitors of the Korean giant will answer.
