Today, the creator and current head of the Lurkomorye project (Lurkmore, Lurk) Dmitry Khomak announced his intention to suspend the site. The main reason is the conflict with Roskomnadzor, as well as the inclusion of the Dynasty fund on the list of "foreign agents . "

Plans for further work with Lurkomorye Dmitry Khomak published (in a somewhat emotional form) on his Facebook page .

"OK. We put Lurk into conservation mode and a cultural monument. This separately requires [a lot of] time and effort, it is not clear where to get them, ”commented the founder of Lurkmore.

At the same time, the decision to freeze the resource was made under the influence of news about the site being added to the list of “foreign agents”. Constant conflicts with Roskomnadzor are not the main factor. “In short: my personal peace of mind was not upset by Lurk’s blocking or the fact that the money ran out at all, but by the story of the Dynasty fund,” Dmitry said.

Another problem for Dmitry is the lack of media attention to the problem of Internet blocking.

“No one has noticed the Github blocking story. The press noticed the beginning of the story with Syutkin, the ending didn’t. Well, actually, after Zharov from Roskomnadzor publicly put me on Rossiya 24, and they also began to block entry and for every sneeze, we were no longer in the press, ”Khomak said.

In March this year, the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov, giving an interview to the Russia 24 channel, publicly accused Khomak of pursuing some marketing goals, while accusing the department of “blackmail”. In addition, Zharov accused Lurkomorye of the regular appearance of illegal information on the site.

“Lurkmore and I have been interacting for 2.5 years, as it is being filled, including by users, regularly there appears illegal information, information regularly appears calling for suicidal behavior, child pornography, drug propaganda and so on. And the owner of the resource, Dmitry Khomak, has always actively interacted with us, he quickly blocked this information, ”Zharov said in this interview.

Over the past few months, Lurkmore has been banned sites several times , for various reasons. For example, only in April this year the site was once again entered into the register because of the page where the photograph of Valery Syutkin was located. This photo has become a meme due to some circumstances. Last year, Roskomnadzor added several pages of the site to the black list due to information on narcotic substances posted on the resource.

It remains only to add that "Lurkomorye" is not closing, but temporarily suspends work, updating materials. The project manager plans to rethink the concept of the resource, most likely to launch an already updated site.
