Why do I need a number

Apple uses the DUNS number to make sure your company exists. Assignment of numbers is done by D&B, which Apple has assigned all the duties of verification of legal entities.

We decided to conduct an experiment and get a number for one of our customers, who was just about to publish the application from a legal entity. On the official site of D&B and asked whether it is possible to get a number for free. At first, the agency representative wanted to transfer us to the Russian-language representative office, but we specified that Interfax - Dan and Bradstreet offers only paid services. Five minutes later, became the owner of a link to receive a number for free .

1. Follow the link. Register on the site .



2. We accept the terms of the user agreement



3. Click on the blue button to get the number for free



4. We are trying to find a company in the registry. We did not find the right one - we tried to add it to the database by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page.



The site did not allow changing the region from America to Russia, the field was inactive. Therefore, they wrote to the support team at [email protected].

5. On the same day, a letter came with instructions. We were asked to send information about the company:

Answered questions in English, attached to the letter scan OGRN. Please note that your company name on the Apple and D&B sites must match exactly.

6. For two weeks nothing happened, we sent a clarifying letter to D&B. The answer came that the application will be considered for another ten days. And the next day they sent a DUNS number to the mail.
