Say, everything is in the capital, aunts are ordered from the forum from there, they pay 500 rubles for delivery, and you take this opportunity to buy it yourself and save for the family. Where else can I catch a living demon, if not in my homeland? Here we take Europe - they live bored, poor fellows. They are satisfied, one might say, with rubber demons, since they are inexpensive . The real ones don't walk the streets like that. And if they slip, then quickly and hiding, so that, God forbid, they did not notice.

Now I only need to talk about the cable. It seems ugly in appearance, but it runs as much as 5 GHz.

The direction finder is connected to the tablet via USB3, and it has quite serious requirements for cable quality. Fortunately, the cable should not be very long, I take pieces of a simple twisted pair UTP and connect the type A connector to the type C connector. The direction finder is type C, since it is impossible to increase the thickness much, it will be ugly. It turns out such a twist of all the colors of the rainbow. And most importantly - you must add more individual earth wires to this twist. With one, for example, even at such a length, the USB interface produces errors and there is no connection with the board.

On side A, everything is very simple.

And on the C side, we also need a resistor (according to the standard for type C), which I did not find in SMD format, so I put a big Soviet one. This is how sometimes the old stocks of our fathers save!

Let us return to our ward, until you are completely bored. Different mobile devices respond to the daemon in very different ways. I had Samsung Duos and Lenovo Phab 2 Pro on hand (the star of future articles about AR direction finders). Samsung, even in the immediate vicinity of the demon, rarely flew to Vnukovo. Losses in the antenna of this device lead to a rather large system noise figure (System Noise Floor). In the open sky, I saw only 40 dB with a little. And this is one of the signs of the demon coming, observed on ordinary mobile devices.

It should also be noted that, along with fake satellites, the real ones are also accepted. They have a significantly lower SNR (SNR). The right screenshot was taken under the Moskvoretsky bridge, so there is only one real satellite there, but the rest (fake) are taken as if they were all in my pocket.

Maybe my Phab 2 Pro is so frozen, but I saw that the demon disappeared only at 10.30, exactly. And it was already near the hackspace Neuron on Khokhlovsky.
