The announcement was made at a meeting of SAP Capital Markets Day, during which SAP announced that the updated ERP solution includes the following cloud components: S / 4HANA Professional Services Cloud for project management, S / 4HANA Finance Cloud for management purchases and orders, as well as the S / 4HANA Enterprise Management Cloud for business management.
Among the improvements are features such as machine intelligence and a digital assistant similar to Apple's Siri. Sven Denecken, vice president of product management at SAP, explained that the new electronic assistant is more than just a tool for communicating with the program. It will have deep integration with solution capabilities.
“What the next generation ERP machine learning concept can do is combine the data and provide the user with the right understanding of the context to make the right decision, ” Sven says .
The digital assistant was named SAP CoPilot and is now able to create a list of recent customer actions, search for necessary records and perform other functions. For now, users will have to enter all requests for CoPilot manually, but the company plans to add voice support in the future.
Representatives of the company also declare that now S / 4HANA Cloud will be updated quarterly. In future updates, developers will expand the functionality of artificial intelligence, add integration of cloud-to-cloud and API for working with third-party applications. Also, SAP noted that they plan to add capabilities to work with the Internet of things into the system.
Darren Roos, President of SAP S / 4HANA Cloud, notes that the company will develop tools both independently and in partnership with other participants in the IT market. “I don’t think it matters who develops the machine learning functionality, ” Darren said . “SAP will work closely with partners and pay more attention to the functionality that customers need.”
Sven Deneken says cloud technology and artificial intelligence will enable businesses to become more flexible. The company itself, SAP promised to keep users informed of upcoming updates.
