Rush around the Boar: how it all began. Part 1

We start our blog by telling you by whom and why the Kabanchik.com.ua project was created - an online service ordering service that combines on the one hand service customers (from courier delivery to a nanny or overhaul) and performers (specialists looking for part-time or extra income )

Now the team Metnis Kabanchik totals 13 people, but to launch the project it took only two young entrepreneurs: Roman Kirigetov and Alexander Yuryev. Roman had experience in managing and building an offline business from scratch. Promotion of Internet projects was just his hobby, which he worked in his free time. Even in his student years, Alexander became interested in website development, independently learned several programming languages, and managed to outsource a couple of years to the Western market.

As an idea for the project, the creators of Kabanchik used the experience of the American project TaskRabbit, which at that time was successfully developing in many cities in the United States. But just copying the Taskrebit model would be very inefficient, because Western user market is very different from the market of post-Soviet countries. It was necessary to adapt the model to our realities.

The name of the project itself occurred to the founders. Well, what phrase can better describe the essence of the service, rather than "catch a hog"? This name could not please everyone, but certainly did not leave anyone indifferent. And this is the main rule of good branding. Plus, the kabanchik.com.ua domain turned out to be free - it was a sign.

Immediately after buying the domain, friends started to work. To begin with, they drew up a prototype of the future project and the main logic. Next, we started design and content filling. All work on the project was done on their own in their free time and at the weekend (both founders at that time had a permanent job), without involving additional specialists. This allowed to save an impressive part of the funds that the founders planned to spend on marketing the product.

After two months of work, the guys already had a working alpha version of the project. A couple of weeks of testing, as well as satisfying the feeling of perfectionism, and the project was ready for presentation to the general public. The launch was scheduled for September 17, 2012.

We will tell you about the first day of the launch of the project and the first marketing experiments in our next post in a week.
