How I tried to become a member of Skolkovo

    Like most programmers, I write my own project. For this, I registered my own Limited Liability Company in Russia and a company abroad, received a couple of patents and, if you look at the project more realistically, then it’s more than 70% ready for half a year. In the team I have a designer and a “bunch of advisers” ... At this stage, I decided not to look for an investor, but to start this at the 95-100% stage. I did not find any analogues for him, but I was looking for a long time, so the development of the project is worth it. But that's not the point.

    Since the discussion of the i-gorod website was ongoing , I decided to try myself as a participant in this cut of the project ...

    How to apply?

    To do this, you need to register on the site. We drive in E-mail, password and security code ... And we are already there. Where you are physically is not important.

    Who can apply?

    Yes, at least someone. A legal entity, an individual, an individual entrepreneur - it does not matter.
    After you have to wait for the results about your application. If she satisfies the fund, then you can safely “roll” to Skolkovo.
    An individual can then, if he wants, create a Legal Entity, and thus become a participant in Skolkovo “in essence”.

    However (!), The provision states that only a Legal Entity or Individual Entrepreneur can be a participant.
    And in this situation, it can only be a legal entity ...

    It's already interesting ...

    And, by the way, all scanned copies of documents should be exclusively in PDF ...

    Well, okay, this is not long ...

    Can I get financing from the fund?

    Of course you can! To do this, you need to provide just a little:

    - A brief description of the Innovation Project (the essence of innovation);
    - A brief description of the market (demand for a product or technology, as well as competition);
    - A brief description of your company (employees, name, etc.);
    - A brief description of the financial plan (how much money you need, how much, when and in what amount they will be repulsed);
    - A brief description of the risks;
    - Separately indicate how much money you need from the Skolkovo Fund.
    - How are you going to earn on your innovation;
    - Why is your innovation better than your competitors?
    - Why is your innovation interesting to users;
    - Technical description of the product;
    - Roadmap of the project;
    - Characteristics of the consumer (yes, you still have to be a drop dead psychologist with a time machine);
    - The size, dynamics and segmentation of the target market;
    - Barriers to enter this market;
    - Existing and potential competitors (and here the time machine comes in handy);
    - What conditions are required to “conquer” the required market;
    - Financial documents about yourself and existing investors, as well as investment schedules and estimates;
    - Sales forecast;
    - All types of risks.

    I understand that all this, logically, should already be in the search for an Investor (experience is in the previous project). Therefore, we move on.

    By what date can I apply?

    Reception of applications is ongoing.

    Do I need to submit an application in English?

    As stated on the site, if you want to expedite the deadline for considering the application, then yes. However, when filling out an application in Russian - an application in English is required ... When submitting an application in English - in Russian you can not apply.
    Alas, this is the " Russian Silicon Valley."

    This is also not a problem ...

    Application Requirements

    Why did I omit this at the end? Yes, very simple.
    So, the requirements:

    - The applicant is a legal entity

    And you can submit to an individual, but it must be legal. Where is the logic here - it's hard for me to understand. Oh well, I have a jur. face.

    - The constituent documents allow the implementation of activities to carry out research, development and commercialization in the areas of: energy efficiency and energy saving; nuclear technology; space technology; medical technology; strategic computer technology and software.

    No problem! This was thought out at the beginning, as I am engaged in software.

    - The applicant accepts obligations to carry out research activities.

    What is "research activity" I have already ceased to understand, therefore I agree.

    - The project submitted by the applicant involves the participation of a specialist who carries out scientific and (or) teaching activities in a Russian and (or) foreign educational and (or) scientific institution, which is confirmed by his written statement.

    Well, we’ll ask mom for a statement, she’s just a teacher ... Although I don’t know how to get out the rest.

    - The project meets the requirements: complies with the lines of activity; involves the development and (or) commercialization of unique and (or) possessing competitive advantages over world analogues of products and (or) technologies;

    Here, I hope, I will still pass. But I didn’t specifically indicate the last point ... Here it is: it offers the participation of a foreign specialist in the project, who has considerable authority in the investment and (or) research environment. The participation of the indicated person and (or) his intention to participate in the project is confirmed by his written statement.

    And now the question is: if I find a foreign investor, are you sure that I will not go abroad, and not to Skolkovo? Wow! Where can I get a foreign specialist with significant authority?

    Simply put, for development you need to have a tough and reputable specialist in the company. As a result, your company must pay him a lot of money so that he works for you ...

    Well, and how can my company with a potentially “cool” project get into the developed IT community? No way. The point is not even in the project, but in the fact that Skolkovo, logically, was created for cool companies that, no matter how ridiculous it sounds, are fleeing Russia.

    Total

    In general, I “spat” on Skolkovo. You can find an investor and a place with great success not only without Skolkovo, but, according to the current impression, even better without Skolkovo.
    And about the expansion of the company's activities in Russia - the topic is as old as the world.

    Everything for innovation and development?

    UDP : as I found out here, a hundredth in Skolkovo costs from 150 to 250 thousand dollars. Real estate in this area - from 15 thousand dollars per meter.

    UDP 2 : As said by kochetkovweb, Yandex launched the Yandex.Factory project yesterday , which has a good chance of becoming the Russian Startup Center. I'll try my luck ...
