Founder Tips. Alexey Sheremetyev, co-founder of Planner 5D

Today’s column heading is Aleksey Sheremetyev, who created the Planner 5D service with his partner . Aleksey says that the service was invented “by itself” in 2010, when both founders faced, individually, the housing issue. Trying to find a worthy solution, the guys were depressed - it simply was not on the market, so "I had to do everything ourselves." Today, Planner 5D is a service that allows anyone to create the layout and interior of any room, even without the special skills of an engineer or architect.
Brief biography Aleksey Sheremeteva: 28 years old, originally from the Crimea, since 2003 lives in Moscow. In the institute years, with a friend, he tried to organize a design studio that successfully implemented several projects. Later he went to study work in large companies: ABBYY, Oversan. He was engaged in design, interfaces and Internet project management. Alexey claims that it was this experience that helped him create a virtual room planner.
A brief history of the development of the Planner 5D project:
- 2011 - investments from the fund of Igor Matsanyuk, the beginning of development.
- 2012 is a web version. 2013 is a mobile version.
- Today, Planner 5D is presented on the web, on the desktop (OS X), iOS and Android. The number of registered users: 3.5 million.
- In 2014, the team moved to Lithuania, opening its main office.
Start as early as possible
Many are trying to delay the launch of the project. It seems that he is not ready yet, I want to complete, add, add functionality, etc. This has led many to failure. The project will never be “completed”. There will always be something else to do. But starting faster, you will know earlier what users really need. Often, what seems to us to be claimed by the user is actually not such. It is very important to understand this in time and to rebuild in the right direction.
Experiment more
You have to try everything. We had cases when a completely unexpected and seemingly hopeless option worked. And much better and more effective than the most obvious. The craziest, stupidest ideas can make you a cashier.
Focus
But with these experiments do not get carried away so as to "get lost." In order not to get away from the main point. If something doesn’t go, drop it. Focus now on what works 100%. You will return to controversial and difficult things later. For example, we lost a huge amount of time and money, spraying on several things at the same time, of which "in theory" should work.
Look for opportunities
Every event in the modern world, whether it is another crisis or the release of Apple Watch, is an open window of opportunity. Always look around. Almost everything can benefit your business.
All this, of course, is easier said than done, we ourselves broke a bunch of firewood and stepped on all kinds of rakes. And still at the beginning of the journey. Good luck
