Already today the Ministry of Communications is planning to carry out a procedure for protecting projects that claim state support for domestic software developers. At the same time, 200-500 million rubles will be allocated each year to support the approved projects, writes RBC . Support for domestic software developers is part of the software import substitution plan approved by the ministry on April 1.

The plan mentions 14 different areas of software development, including antivirus software, server operating systems, database management systems and other possible projects. Officials plan to reduce imports of such software to 50% by 2025.

May 15 is the last day that applications for grants from the Ministry of Communications were received. The representative of the ministry said that the total number of project applications from IT companies and project consortia reached 70.

Unfortunately, the source of project financing was not named. At the same time, "they will be built on the principles of co-financing of development", with the participation of the authors in financing their own projects.
