Wikileaks posted more than 400 thousand documents on military operations in Iraq

Despite the fact that earlier the project manager Wikileaks called the rumors that the service will soon publish hundreds of thousands of documents on the US military campaign in Iraq, fiction, all this turned out to be true. Tonight, Wikileaks did publish all of these documents, despite the intimidation of Essence by the US authorities, or the Pentagon’s request not to publish these documents. The project did not listen to anyone and still published all the collected materials. It is interesting that earlier the Pentagon also asked representatives of other mass media not to cooperate with Wikileaks, but the journalists, sensible of sensation, did not listen, of course.

And the documents are really interesting - for example, according to Essange, the number of officially declared deaths in Iraq is much less than it actually is. The Wikileaks team was not engaged in a thorough analysis of the documents received (which is understandable - who is able to analyze almost half a million documents in a few weeks?), But, according to preliminary data, at least 15 thousand people died in Iraq more than claimed by the US authorities.

The documents also contain information about the cruel treatment of the US military with the Iraqi people who were shot at the slightest suspicion of an attempt on their part. In addition, prisoners of war were killed if they did not give the necessary information to the US military.

Essange held a press conference where he answered many questions. It is clear that the head of Wikileaks did not answer the question about the origin of the documents. In addition, he remained silent even when journalists asked questions about the preparation of documents, their placement and editing. The total number of published documents relating to the period 2004-2010 is 391,831.

I recall that over the past month only the lazy did not discuss the possibility of uploading all the documents mentioned above by the Wikileaks service - some even thought that all this was fiction or the intention of the service to attract attention by a duck. As you can see, most of the rumors turned out to be baseless, and the documents are more than real.

Now, unverified information slipped into the Network that Wikileaks provided the US military with the opportunity to make sure that all documents are real before putting it in the public domain. In exchange, Wikileaks closed the names of all US informants who appeared in the published reports. According to the same unverified data, hundreds of Pentagon employees worked on the verification.

It is also worth noting that at a convened press conference, Essange promised to soon publish 15 thousand documents, which are military magazines of the military from Afghanistan.

It is clear that the Pentagon immediately after the publication of the data made a statement about the illegality of such a publication and that the actions of Wikileaks undermine the foundations of US military security. True, the service workers edited the published documents in order to erase the names of specific soldiers or local residents of Iraq. Originals of documents, without editing, can be provided to journalists upon special request.
