At the end of the year, Microsoft and Salesforce announced a strategic partnership, and after discussing plans for joint products, these companies introduced Salesforce App for Outlook.

The application was developed so that users of Outlook and Office 365 can work simultaneously with both mail and contacts and leads. So, for example, when the seller receives an email from his client, he can get access to all the necessary information, while he does not need to interrupt work with Outlook.

The product is available for free as part of Salesforces Enterprise Edition and is completely cloud-based, so no software is required. The application is compatible with Outlook 2013, Office 365, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook Web App (OWA).

This is not the only collaborative application developed by Microsoft and Salesforce: companies are already working on CRM integration with Excel and Power BI.
