BitTorrent Sync is now unlimited in the free version

BitTorrent Sync is a program that synchronizes files in folders between different devices using the BitTorrent protocol. It works both on big brothers and on all kinds of smartphones.

Until today, there was a limit on the number of folders that can be made in the free version. Recently, aik, in comments on his topic on Habré, said that one of the reasons for refusing to use this program was precisely because after beta the capabilities of this very free version were greatly curtailed. Now everything has changed.

That brought, there is no strength to keep in yourself.

Since I can’t create news, here's the news for you in the form of a tiny little note. Get a post a la GeekTwitt,% username%! This news is the place on GeekTimes, but there is nothing to publish with negative karma, unfortunately.

Today at one in the morning I received a letter from The Sync Team - the BitTorrent Sync mailing list. The letter tells about two pleasant changes in Sync's pricing policy.

Firstly, now there is no limit on the number of folders in the free version. Secondly, now you can buy Sync for personal use for $ 40 once and for all (read: for a long time), and not as an annual subscription. The buns of the paid version consist of the following convenient features: it is selective synchronization, although it is still selective on smartphones; and the ability to change access rights on the fly. A business version for the same forty bucks a year promises group management and courtesans priority in support, whatever that means.

Maybe someone is interested in how I personally use this business.

In general, of course, BT Sync is a convenience, in my opinion. My computer always works, and in syncI keep KeePass database and changing passwords on any device, I get the latest version at any time. And I throw the comics on the phone this way. Although of course you can simply copy, but apparently I'm a fan.

At work, as an experiment, we set up a sync to send client files from a web server to an office to a daddy in a Windows computer. The principle is simple: the file ends up in a folder, from there the batch file picks it up from the crown and transfers it to the next folder. In the source, it disappears - it disappears on the server. Works good. Apparently let’s leave it that way. The only thing in the server config is to configure that the files that were deleted do not need to be stored. Keeping deleted files is also convenient - you don’t worry that someone will rub your important and necessary.

That's basically it. On the other hand, it is of course very nice when you have your personal file cloud, without restrictions on size and volume.

In the mobile version, the function of synchronizing photos is tested and this is all with a big brother. A couple of times I even managed to run it and do it. I hope it will work fine soon. Then generally a victory.

Everything, shared the joy. Have a nice day, everyone!
