The digest of interesting materials for the mobile developer # 101 (April 27-May 4)
The main newsmaker this week was Microsoft - during the Build conference, it announced the transfer of Android and iOS applications to Windows, work with HoloLens, a cross-platform code editor, and a partnership with Arduino. Universal Windows Platform is the official name of the platform for developing client applications for Windows devices. Everyone is used to the fact that client applications are C # or JavaScript. But Microsoft is expanding the boundaries and now you can create web-based client applications and use the Windows API in such an application, or even compile and run on Windows or Windows Phone 10 an Android application developed in Java or C ++, or an Xcode project in Objective C.
Developing previous Android versions of Aviasales, we were far from “listening” to Google. Now, with the release of Android 5, it was decided to try out new guidelines, and I’ll talk about our impressions below.
Native script (NS) is a library that allows you to make cross-platform applications using XML, CSS, JavaScript. Native script solves the same problem as the well-known phonegap (creating cross-platform applications), but they have different approaches.
A page appeared in Russian iTunes through which funds are being raised to help victims of the earthquake in Nepal. 100% of the amount of all donations will be transferred to the Red Cross charity fund, which provides first aid, search and rescue of victims.
