HP 3PAR StoreServ Webinar

    HP Enterprise Solutions Welcomes to New Series of Webinars Starting February 5th
    The first webinar in the series is dedicated to the HP 3PAR StoreServ. The seminar will present an overview of disk arrays, demonstrate the stand for the Peer Motion federated data storage, as well as HP 3PAR Peer Persistence fault-tolerant technology.

    3PAR Peer Persistence technology allows you to build fault-tolerant solutions in a Windows or WMware environment, where in the event of a failure of one of the arrays, switching between sites is completely automatic and transparent for applications. The volume is replicated between the arrays and the failover paths presented to the host are created for it. Disk arrays located at different sites are interconnected by replication implemented using 3PAR Remote Copy.

    3PAR Peer Persistence provides servers with uniform access to two storage systems at the data center sites, and each logical disk (LUN) of each 3Par storage system has a synchronous copy at another site.

    This copy is presented to VMware or Windows as a passive path to the main LUN, as it has the same WWN identifier (a unique identifier for a device in SANs). In the event of a failure of the main LUN, its backup remains visible to the hosts.

    At the same time, switching to the backup, for specific volumes, the array occurs without the use of third-party mechanisms, which makes it possible to transfer virtual machines (applications) to another site without stopping them and at the same time does not complicate infrastructure management.

    3PAR Peer Motion technology is designed for efficient and easy data migration between different storage systems, without downtime.

    In particular, Peer Motion allows you to:
    • perform online volume transfer between two 3PAR storage systems in order to balance the load or to migrate from the old storage system to a new one without stopping the application;
    • convert the volume during migration from thick to thin on the fly;
    • there is no need to change server settings for online data migration or install additional software there.

    Migration is done using the HP 3PAR StoreServ arrays themselves without using any additional hardware and software.

    Sign up for a new series of EG webinars , join your colleagues at the HP 3PAR Peer Persistence webinar on February 5 to ask your questions to HP experts.

    See you in the virtual room!
