ABRT-Mangrove CEO Camp 2.0 Startup Education Program Launched

The ABRT-Mangrove CEO Camp 2.0, an educational project for the founders of promising startups, organized by ABRT Venture Fund, Mangrove Capital Partners, RIS Ventures, and ITMO University Business Incubator, with expert support from Veeam Software, recently completed. The main goal of the CEO Camp project is not to receive investment by participating projects, but to accelerate their own revenue . “Startup CEO Day” was the “final chord” of hard, but fruitful eight-week work. At one site, experts and trackers met, graduates of CEO Camp 1.0 and graduates of CEO Camp 2.0, as well as investors who evaluated the work of the participants and the program itself.

Startup CEO Day was divided into two parts.

In the first part, the project teams of the previous stream spoke (CEO Camp 1.0). Each performance began with highlighting those basic skills and tools that were acquired by the participant in the program. For example, Georgy Cheishvili from AddReality spoke about the importance of working with clients through partners. Nikolay Filatov from Go2See is about building hypotheses and the speed of testing them. Then, entrepreneurs went on to talk about the main successes of their projects over the past six months after graduating from the program.

Vasily Dyachenko from the “Loyalty Factory” dwelled on a case of cooperation with the Burger King network: in less than six months their application was downloaded and recommended by more than 170,000 people. Maxim Mozhar from TelemetronHe announced the complete readiness of the product to enter the European market, for which an additional office will be opened in the near future.

The second part of Startup CEO Day consisted of presentations by investors and graduates of the current stream. Representatives of Rexoft, Almaz Capital, ABRT, Maxfield Capital, ImpulseVC, Restart Capital and Mobile GROUP spoke about their investment profile and shared their views on the current state of venture investments in Russia.

Alumni projects: PromoAtlas (online system for placement and management of indoor advertising), Excursia (automatic GPS audio guide that determines your location and tells about everything that you see), Oriense (devices for the blind and visually impaired),iBinom (online service for quick analytical processing of the human genome for scientific and medical purposes), Sputnik (unique author tours), Giftery (gift cards delivered by email), Alphabionics (surgical photos in 3D) and VeeRoute (optimization and automation of business processes in logistics, the best IT startup in Russia 2014according to the version of the competition-accelerator GenerationS) they talked about the results of their eight-week work on the program and set goals for the future. Each of the projects identified the main "business discoveries" in their activities that occurred due to their participation in the CEO Camp 2.0 program. Many participants noted key changes in their business thinking, and also showed their measurable progress ("Traction") for the program. For some participants, such a progress was the rejection of the previous business model during the CEO Camp 2.0 and a turn to the new one.

The work of ABRT-Mangrove CEO Camp 2.0 has ended. But the work of our graduates continues. I wish graduates to stay in the high rhythm of the business, have resistance to “storms in the markets”, as well as successfully implement all business plans in 2015!
