“Learning is light!” Agree? We believe that quality education is the key to success in many areas of life. JetBrains has always tried to help students gain in-depth knowledge, both applied and theoretical. We conduct a number of educational programs, internships and other educational events .
For many years, all of our products were subject to an 80 percent student discount.
Today we take another step in this direction and announce that students (and teachers) can use our products for free for educational purposes! This applies to all our IDEs and tools for .NET development (and TeamCity and YouTrack already have free editions or plans).
The requirements for students are quite simple ...
But I just want to dwell on the requirements in more detail, because in this matter we need your help and feedback.
The free Student License replaces the Academic License and applies to all IDEs and tools for .NET. All holders of Academic licenses (except educational institutions) can now upgrade them to Personal. But all students and teachers can automatically confirm their "status" and use the products.
To obtain a Student license, you must 1) have a JetBrains Account and 2) confirm your student status using the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or a unique email address with * .edu domain.
You can apply now at jetbrains.com/student. Answers to frequently asked questions are also given there. Student licenses are issued for a period of 1 year, after which a new application must be submitted. “But what should students from the CIS do?” You ask. Of course, not everyone has an ISIC card, although this is a pretty useful thing. And yes, our students have email addresses that do not end with .edu. Knowing this, we plan to replenish the list of "valid" domains. This is where we need your help. Write to us if such verification methods are suitable for you. We will take into account the wishes and make the necessary changes in the near future.
Student licenses are for students and teachers only. We also have classroom licenses that allow teachers to use products for free in the learning process. This program remains unchanged, so if it suits you, do not be shy and apply for Classroom licenses.
