Tesla Battery Factory in Nevada Receives 1.3 Billion Tax Credits

The other day it became clear why, instead of California, the Tesla battery factory will be built in Nevada. Previously, this object was really going to be built in California, but then pretty unexpected news came that the battery gig factory would be built in Nevada. And all because in Nevada Tesla will receive quite significant tax incentives, the total amount of which for 20 years will be 1.3 billion US dollars.

This is considerable money even for Elon Musk and Tesla. Of course, such savings will allow the company to better manage the available funds, and make production less expensive.

And for the state of Nevada, the construction of such a huge facility as the Tesla battery factory means many billions of financial investments into the state’s economy (it is worth recalling that the total construction cost is estimated at 5 billion US dollars), 3,000 jobs at the time of the factory’s construction and 6,500 jobs after its construction and the like, positive changes.

One of the clauses between the Tesla leadership and the Nevada leadership is Tesla’s commitment to make up 50% of the Nevada residents of the new factory.

It is also worth recalling that, in addition to state authorities, Panasonic will be the main partner of Tesla in this project. The company will be responsible for the equipment used to manufacture the battery cells. Tesla will build the entire factory, including infrastructure networks, and will collect batteries from Panasonic-created cells.
