When it’s not enough just to set yourself a task - but you still have to learn how to live with it. Many people set goals publicly in order to burn bridges and prevent themselves from manifesting weaknesses - this is the basis of the idea of ​​the project to achieve SmartProgress goals . But this does not work if motivation turns into pressure, determination turns into stress, and as a result, the protective mechanisms of the psyche are turned on, which are expressed in the fact that a person falls into a stupor, and the larger the target, the stronger the pressure and the more difficult it is to move at least a finger. I know a lot of great programmers who sincerely consider themselves lazy people - and at the same time are able to play the code all night. In fact, laziness and procrastination are signals of internal disagreement with goals. But if the goal is too tempting, you can try to circumvent them. In the end, the voice of the subconscious is just the voice of the instincts inherent in a person at a time when life was much simpler and more linear.

    The life hack that I want to share is based on a simple principle: if you can’t change the situation, change your attitude towards it. The best way to overcome stress pressure is to stop perceiving it as pressure.

    Remark your negative emotions to better tolerate pressure

    Take a deep breath and try to identify the emotions you experience. Select them, and try to look at them from the other side: not as an obstacle, but as an opportunity. Not as a stop, but as a support. With most emotions, this is done quite easily, examples of emotions-shifters are pretty obvious:

    • Disappointment -> Desire
    • Alarm -> Responsibility

    This simple adjustment switches the brain from panic mode to output search mode, and allows you to act constructively.

    From my own experience, I can say that rebuilding should not be difficult: just remember once what negative emotion means - the name of her good twin brother - how then the brain will automatically remind it every time its owner catches himself with such feelings.
