The TsODy.RF magazine and the Association of Data Center Industry Participants will show all the paths that lead to the data center

On May 14, 2014, within the framework of the 26th international exhibition Svyaz-Expocomm-2014, Media Gru Publishing House and the Association of Data Center Industry Participants will hold a session “All paths lead to the Data Center”. During the event, members of the Association and leading market experts will talk about the current situation in the industry, introduce modern approaches used in the construction and operation of data centers, and provide detailed information about the Association, which took care of solving strategic issues of the Russian data industry centers.
Today, the growth in the volume of produced, stored and processed information doubles every few years, which leads to the rapid development of the data center industry and the creation of new, more high-tech solutions for data centers. At the session “All paths lead to the data center” there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the representatives of the recently created Association of Data Center Industry Participants, which took the initiative to regulate and develop the Russian segment of the data center market, and also proclaimed its task to form Russian working standards for the design and operation of data centers.
The session will be opened by Alexey Degtyarev, General Director of Media Gruz Publishing House and President of the Association of Data Center Industry Participants. In the introduction to the event, he will introduce the audience to the current market situation, identify key trends and formulate questions to which detailed answers will be given during the event.
Maxim Matvienko, chief project engineer at DataDom, will talk about the basics of creating the physical infrastructure of communication facilities and information processing. In his speech, Maxim will answer the questions: what is a data center? What engineering subsystems does it consist of? What technologies of engineering systems are used in the construction of data centers? What are the parameters for evaluating data center efficiency? What typical mistakes are made during construction?
Igor Dorofeev, General Director of HayCord, will devote his presentation to the concept of data centers as a fulcrum for making business decisions. Today in the data center industry there are a huge number of methods, approaches, standards and technical documents. To organize effective work, a clear understanding of what is really important and what is secondary is necessary. Understanding this basic business question will help understanding the basic foundations - the concepts of modern data centers. Briefly, they can be formulated as follows: efficiency, reliability and safety.
Fedor Klimenko, CEO of GREEN EmCi, will outline in his speech the prerequisites that caused the emergence of data centers of a modular type and introduce the participants to the event with the nuances of this approach to building data centers. Special attention will be paid to the expert assessment of in which case it is optimal to build a stationary data center, in which - modular, and in which - to buy a container.
As part of the event, two round tables are planned. The first of them, entitled “Post-vocational education in the field of data centers”, will be devoted to the issue of educational standards in the field of data centers. The current situation in the market for data centers shows that the industry is experiencing a huge shortage of qualified personnel. One of the objectives of the Association will be the creation of educational standards for professionals who specialize directly in the creation and operation of data centers. The round table will also touch upon the reasons for the need for specialized educational personnel, the real needs of students of data center courses and the prospects for the development of training programs on the topic of creating and operating data centers.
After the first round table, Alexei Degtyarev will outline the current problems of the Russian market of data centers - from design to operation - and tell how the Association of Data Center Industry Participants will help to effectively solve the problems of the data center industry.
Independent consultant Dmitry Basisty will talk about the current situation with standardization in the Russian segment of the data center market, as well as justify the need and highlight the main advantages of a new harmonized standardization base for participants in the data center industry in Russia.
The second round table, “Formalization of data center operating activities”, will be devoted to the current situation in the field of formalization of data center operation processes, as well as the need to regulate operation processes and prevent consequences in case of its illiterate implementation or complete absence. The round table will be led by Sergey Lebedev, deputy head of the Data Center Maintenance Department for the operation of engineering systems of Sberbank, and Andrei Pavlov, CEO of DataDom. Also invited to participate in the round table: Anton Platonov, General Director of the Scientific Innovation Center (StoreData); Evgeny Gromov, Head of Operations, Center for Data Storage (SafeData); Alexey Tarakin, Head of the Engineering Support and Operations Department, VTB24 Bank Service Center, and Igor Nesterov,
