ESA introduced an interactive 3D simulator of the Rosetta mission (study of the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko)

The Rosetta interplanetary station and the Phil lander aboard the station have already woken up, and are ready to meet with comet Churyumov Gerasimenko. About it already wrote on Habré. But the meeting of the module and the comet will occur only in November this year, so it will take a long time to wait.
In order not to have to be bored while waiting, the European Space Agency (ESA) has released an interactive 3D simulator of this mission. More precisely, the simulator was prepared by the INOVE Space Models group, which more than once or twice created interesting models, for example, the Solar System or ISON comet .

By the way, there are two versions of the simulator - embedded and full-screen. In order to start working with the simulator, you just need to click anywhere. The mission will start showing from the very beginning. If you do not want to watch everything, you can study any stage of the mission.
In addition, the model can be rotated, enlarged and reduced. All this is done with the mouse. The model is very realistic, it shows all the details of the mission, all the maneuvers of the interplanetary station. After reviewing this model, you can understand how difficult Rosetta has to perform in order to get closer to the end point of its mission. It is difficult to imagine how many calculations scientists had to make.

In general, it's time to try. On the way :)
