Announced the world's fastest accelerator AMD Radeon R9 295X2

AMD fans rejoice! :) Today, the company introduced the Radeon R9 295X2 dual-processor graphics accelerator, code-named Vesuvius. According to the source, this is the highest-performance video card on the market that you can buy today.

The graphics card is based on two 28-nanometer Hawaii chips, based on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture. The total amount of transistors is 12.4 billion.
Each of the graphics chips uses 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 512-bit bus, and the total memory capacity is 8 GB. The core frequency is 1018 MHz, the memory frequency is 5000 MHz.

AMD reports that the performance of the Radeon R9 295X2 reaches 11.5 teraflops, which is about 11 trillion operations per second!

To cool the graphics card, a new hybrid system was created. So for each graphic chip its own water block is used. The manufacturer promises low temperature and low noise, coupled with stable performance.

It is especially interesting that the Radeon R9 295X2 allows you to run games in 4K resolution, which opens up new prospects for the use of monitors and high-definition TVs.

The accelerator will go on sale before the end of April at an estimated price of $ 1,500. Let's hope the price drops soon.

UPD. In the comments, many compare the Radeon R9 295X2 ($ 1,500) with the GeForce GTX TITAN Z ($ 3,000) with 12 GB of GDDR5 memory and a theoretical performance of ~ 8 teraflops. Here is a link to compare the Radeon R9 295X2 Review VS TITAN-Z
