CEO Mt.Gox Mark Karpls resigned from the board of directors of the Bitcoin Foundation

The head of the long-suffering and largest bitcoin exchange Mt.Gox, located in Tokyo, Mark Karplos left his post on the board of directors at the Bitcoin Foundation, an organization that standardizes, protects and promotes the use of cryptocurrency for the benefit of users around the world.

The Bitcoin Foundation thanks the management of the Japanese exchange "for an early and invaluable contribution to the formation of the organization." This decision has entered into force, and soon detailed information is expected about who will take the vacant seat on the board of directors, three of which are elected, just one of them was held by the head of Mt.Gox.

Due to recent issues with the withdrawal of funds from the exchange, and subsequent statements by the leadership on the protocol vulnerability, refuted by the developer community, which in response convicted the management of the exchange in an attempt to shift responsibility for its own incompetence and / or malice, CoinDesk removed Mt.Gox from its BTC rate index and many members of the Bitcoin investor community around the world voted for Karpls to resign from the Bitcoin Foundation. The subsequent call to the Tokyo office of the exchange remained unanswered, the decision was made in absentia.

There was no official response from CEO Mt.Gox, except for the deletion of all entries from the Twitter exchange.
