Visiting MakeItLab, the first hackspace of Yekaterinburg
One evening in the life of the first Yekaterinburg hackspace. A short story about a very useful undertaking for any homemade product. A lot of photos of interesting equipment and projects, few words. In the text, I did not hesitate to give a couple of links. Huxspace works entirely on a voluntary basis - a free office in the city center, bought by the founders at their own expense, is not at all cheap equipment. All DIYers of Yekaterinburg are simply obliged to find out about such an initiative. Under the cut 20 large photos.

It is ridiculous to say that in the morning I did not really know about these comrades. I read an article on our local resource , but did not attach any importance to it. Either a little specificity, or read too fluently. There was an impression that there was some other undertaking for schoolchildren. I read and forgot.
In the afternoon I saw VKontakte several incoming messages from a stranger. He was interested in goods in my micro-online store for arduino. Word for word, about half a day of online communication, and we just found a bunch of points of intersection of interests. Tonight I ended up visiting them. And I was very impressed.
MakeItLab is located in the very center of Yekaterinburg at 30 Vayner St. We pass along the pedestrian alley:

Not the most budgetary place, but the guys were able to agree with the owner of the office. Free rental is certainly not eternal, but so far it frees you from thoughts about finding money. We approach the cherished house. So it looks from the facade (the sign has nothing to do with us):

We go around the building, the back entrance to the offices. Going into the room we see a picture from the header. It does not transmit all the wealth of equipment. I will show close-up. In the first place, of course, the brand new 3D printer Duplicator 3 (personal contribution of Semyon Parkyshev ) flaunts :

Around there is a small creative mess. If you look closely, you can find a number of already printed models:

In the corner, a small ... programmed milling machine hid inconspicuously:

Yes, next to an empty cucumber can. Filmed - as is, without embellishment. (UPD: it later turned out that the cucumbers in the hacklab didn’t seem to eat - a can with acetone to gloss out “printouts.”) On the other hand, the cans had an ultrasonic bath:

Soldering station with a bottle of alcohol:

More photos of the equipment and a complete list of what is available can be seen on the project website and in their repository on the github (the link was above). Now a little about the projects. A bit of photos and an unexpected text end at the end.
Equipped with innovative soft cushions that protect against crushing everything in the trash when dropped. Obviously, the authors of the project want to test the theory of sandwich and butter.

Quadrocopter “dual core” brain:

Until recently, he was an ordinary plastic, but he will soon learn to sculpt chocolate candy figures on wedding cakes. Who is going to drastically change their lives through a sudden wedding - pay attention.

It will turn out here from such a stand, by tearing off the already unnecessary WindowsMobile sticker, painting over the htc brand ...

... and putting such an arrogant game inside:

The protagonist of today's review ... expected by a large army of addicted fans. Mixes three types of drinks in the required proportion. You can change the composition of the drink as it is consumed. Not limited to the most sophisticated fantasy field for experiments at private parties. A great option to stand out for owners of cafes and restaurants. After completion of development will be heated.

Managed by Wi-Fi. Those who wish can order the composition of the drink without tearing a single part of the body from a comfortable chair:

The organizers will be incredibly happy to personally communicate with their own kind. Do you want to participate in any of the projects or just take a look? Do you want to use hackspace resources to develop your project? Contact the guys ( nemilya , Oleg Evsegneev , spiritus_sancti ) - and you will succeed. And it will turn out without unnecessary financial costs. Now it’s important for the hackspace to bring together a community of enthusiastic people. Dreams of self-financing and unspeakable personal enrichment are relegated to the background.
PS The site of the project is not opening very fast now, I’m afraid it may completely disappear from the influx of habrotraffic. Here are the links to the pages of the github hacklab repository: projects , equipment . Butlink to their google group .
