Woelab purchased the Prusa Mendel kit from France and assembled it as part of AchiCamp 2012 . After assembly, the developers set themselves the goal of designing a printer that is easy to assemble from recycled materials.

In recent years, a suburb of Accra , the capital of Ghana, has turned into a huge dumpster of computer trash from Europe and the USA.
