So, ladies and gentlemen, PayPal, apparently, is starting its work in Russia. In this regard, today at midnight I received a "letter of happiness" with the heading " Your account has been limited until we hear from you " ... I use the system quite rarely, but I was interested in this situation and I began to figure out what happened.

It turned out that PayPal has begun the verification procedure for users from Russia.

Having logged in, I saw the following text in English:

We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information about your business to allow us to provide uninterrupted service. Until we can collect this information, your access to sensitive account features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Why is my account access limited?

Your account access has been limited for the following reason (s):

- As part of Russian legal and regulatory requirements we need to collect additional information about you and your business.

- If you have signed up before the end of September 2013, you can provide information right away here: www.paypal-merchant.ru and login with your email and PayPal password to see how to proceed.

- If you signed up starting from the beginning of October 2013, you may need to wait a few days before you'll be able to provide information. Please go to www.paypal-merchant.ru and login with your email and PayPal password to see how to proceed.

And then in the next step the same thing, only in Russian:

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation of Russia, we need to receive information about your business activities.

If we fail to collect and verify the necessary information, access to your account will be limited, and you will not be able to send, receive and withdraw funds from the account.

Provide information about your bank account with a Russian bank, about you and your company. As soon as we receive all the necessary information, our representatives will check it and you will get access to all PayPal functions.

If you registered before September 2013, you can start downloading documents immediately. If not, wait, according to the assurances of the system, for several days . In practice, these “ several days ” will stretch for weeks until they verify previously registered users.

Verification requires:

1. Indicate the details of your account in a Russian bank
2. Provide PayPal Account Holder Information
3. Provide information about your company (as I understand it, constituent documents)
4. Indicate other users authorized for cash transactions

Everything except point 3 is understandable. But what to do if I do not have a registered organization and I do not accept payments on PayPal - it is not entirely clear. Without filling out this section, the request for verification is not sent and it is separately indicated that once filling out all the information and submitting the request, you will not be able to change anything (it sounds somehow tragic). It would be great if the company gave further clarification on this subject.
