Posters apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Big spring update and numbers

Three Afishas applications were pushed and today they updated immediately: an application for iOS , Android and Windows Phone. And this, I must say, is a rather powerful update.

    What has been added?

    - News for Muscovites: now, using the application, they can book tables in many popular restaurants in Moscow, including 24 restaurants that are on the list of “Best in Moscow” according to the Afisha editorial board. In addition, booking is available on the Poster website and in the Best in Moscow application for iOS.

    - Now the Afisha website and applications work in 133 cities. The list was supplemented by Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Orenburg, Saratov, Tyumen, Khabarovsk, Ulyanovsk and another 103 Russian cities. Residents of these cities can watch movie schedules, read and add reviews of films and places - cinemas, restaurants, cafes, clubs and more.

    - The new version of the application has implemented a number of small improvements, including support for iPhone 5 in the iOS application, the ability to share information about places and events via SMS, e-mail, facebook, twitter and Vkontakte, an improved online purchase interface movie tickets and IMAX 3D and 4DX sessions in the schedule, the “Best in Moscow” filter in restaurants and other functions.

    And about the numbers

However, this is not what seems interesting to me - when we were preparing for the release, we looked at the numbers for all applications. Since the stories about attendance, return and other “milk yield” of mobile applications in Russia are not often told (or we are blind and miss everything), referring even to the performance indicators of the American market, we decided to briefly tell.

    - In January 2013, we recorded 1 million 100 thousand installations of Afisha mobile applications. 70% of users who have installed the application use it later. The distribution by platform is: iOS - 77%, Android - 18%, Windows Phone - 5%. The dominance of iOS, however, is largely due to the fact that the application for this platform was launched earlier than anything else - in October 2009, for Android - in June 2011, and for Windows Phone - less than a year ago, in May 2012.

    - The monthly active audience of applications in January 2013 amounted to 550 thousand unique devices. On average, each user logs into the application 5 times a month. The ratio of the number of installations to the active monthly audience is the same for all platforms.

    - Over the year, the Afisha mobile application audience has grown more than 2 times. The fastest growth shows the application for Android. The growth rate of his audience is 1.5 times higher than that of the application for iOS.

    - Finally, users of mobile applications are increasingly buying tickets with their help. On average, every 4th movie ticket sold by the Poster was purchased using apps. At the same time, owners of gadgets with iOS buy tickets more actively - about 5 times more often than fans of Android. Honestly, I can’t imagine why - maybe, in principle, they’re used to buying more.
