New Parallella Board Details

If you recall, in October there was a Kickstarter fundraising post for the Parallella project , a new type of multi-core processor with a high performance-to-power ratio. The company succeeded and brought 900 thousand dollars. The first boards will be sent to backers in May.

The developers are completing the design and layout of the board in the coming weeks. And what innovations await us in the final version

• More powerful Xilinx Zynq-7020 instead of Zynq-7010 (There are two processors on the board - Epiphany 16-core and ARM Cortex-A9 central 2-core FPGA).
• The number of IO ports has been increased. Four 60-pin connectors allow you to connect expansion cards with a total bandwidth of more than 8 GB / s.
• The form factor is the same as the Raspberry Pi - the size of a credit card.

Boards with Zynq-7020 will be sent to backers, and after the public release will be sold as a separate version.
There will not be a 64-core version yet. Three million developers could not collect the necessary.
