LG EA9800 at CES 2013
Meet - LG EA9800 at the international exhibition CES 2013.
What is the most unusual TV of all that you saw? Well, except for the mythical 4k2k models, now for them there is neither content, nor media for such content. Difficult to answer? Well then, we answer - the most unusual TV this year - LG EA9800.
Why?
Probably because it is the world's first OLED TV with a curved screen surface. And it also uses a matrix with a WRGB-arrangement of subpixels, which has proven itself in smartphones of Japanese manufacturers. Specially designed organic LEDs, on the basis of which we make all our OLED panels, allows us not only to make TVs with an incredibly thin display, but also (thanks to the diode arrangement) allow our engineers to experiment with the screen shape. One of the results of such experiments was the LG EA9800.
The LG EA9800 is unique in its own way. This is the first TV in the world with such a set of characteristics, an unusual screen, stunning contrast and full support for the formation of realistic 3D-images - LG CINEMA 3D. Conventional OLED TVs are close to perfection (brightness, color reproduction, lack of “loops” and “blurring” pictures, excellent contrast), but even they still had one problem - when watching movies, due to the peculiarities of human visual receptors, when watching dynamic scenes The "edges" of the screen lost in contrast and detail - this happens with absolutely all flat panels and the blame for the arrangement of our eyes. The curved screen also solves this small noise - the matrix of the LG EA9800 model is designed in such a way
If we talk about the technology on which the TV matrix is built, then this is LG OLED WRGB - the latest generation matrix that uses a four-pixel system with a white sub-pixel in addition to the usual RGB scheme (“red, green, blue”), which is used to adjust the color palettes, reducing the load on the main subpixels when displaying shades close to white, increasing image brightness and stunning contrast. This system is supported by the program code for processing the color signal - “Refiner”, which provides amplification of the video signal, converting it to a form that is understandable to the control electronics of the matrix and controlling the tonality of colors.
The LG EA9800 model also boasts an unprecedented level of black depth, regardless of the illumination, brightness and contrast of the picture, the viewing angle, which is due to the matrix design itself: the backlight as such does not exist, the subpixels themselves are lit, which means black is really black, not closed in front of the lamp is a liquid crystal shutter that transmits light.
Another nice addition was the support for High Dynamic Range (HDR), which provides stunning detail across the entire field of the frame, both in its “dark” areas and in the “light” ones. The combination of all the advanced technologies and one of the most innovative matrices in the world ensures maximum image quality and complete immersion in the cinema. Alas, the pictures do not transmit this, but we hope to bring the TV to our flagship store on the 6th floor of the Lotte Plaza shopping center as soon as possible.
But not only the OLED matrix makes this model unique. Housing materials are selected to match the main element in the TV - the screen. Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic is used to manufacture the TV case, making the TV unusually light. Stylish and streamlined design LG Paper Slim is a separate pride of our industrial designers. It combines the screen and the stand into an aesthetically inseparable whole. At the same time, thanks to the use of CINEMA SCREEN design elements, the TV has a very thin frame that is almost invisible to everyday life. For versatility of installation, the new model comes with a convenient wall mount that allows you to install a TV for one person. Due to the fact that there is less than an inch gap between the wall and the TV,
The TV supports 3D and is equipped with an advanced 2D to 3D converter, and also contains all the latest developments of the LG Smart TV platform.
The price and delivery time to Russia have not yet been determined, but as soon as they become known, we will notify you. Stay tuned;)
