CES Summary: New Samsung Laptops at the International Consumer Electronics Show

We continue to take stock of the international consumer electronics fair CES 2013, which was held January 8-11 in Las Vegas, USA. Today, the focus is on the two latest models of Samsung's high-performance notebook line: Series 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra.
Series 7 Chronos
Notebook The new Series 7 Chronos is a powerful workhorse suitable for everyday business and entertainment as well as professional activities requiring good performance. Contrary to the interpretation of the concept of "workhorse", this laptop is enclosed in a nice-looking slim aluminum case - only 20.9 mm.
Inside, the laptop is equipped with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 3635QM processor, AMD Radeon HD 8870M graphics adapter with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory (PowerExpress), RAM (4 or 8 GB, but can be expanded up to 16 GB) and a hard disk capacity of up to 1 Tb Screen size is 15.6 inches, resolution is 1920x1080 (Full HD), and its brightness is 300 nits. Touch screen, supports 10-finger multi-touch.
There are 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, HP / MIC, VGA and an RJ 45 network connector (three-in-one). The laptop battery promises up to 11.5 hours of battery life. The laptop download speed after turning on is twelve seconds. Chronos takes two seconds to wake up. Windows 8 is preinstalled on the laptop.
Of the small but pleasant additions, one can note the keyboard backlight, a spacious clickpad and an HD camera built-in above the screen.
Series 7 Ultra Notebook
Like its predecessors, the new Series 7 Ultra Notebook has a sophisticated and minimalistic design enclosed in an aluminum casing. He will definitely seem a very “friendly” potential travel companion, weighing 1.65 kg (and a model without a touch screen is even lighter - only 1.46 kg) and only 18.9 mm thick.
Despite the small thickness of the device, Samsung engineers were able to put in it a USB 3.0 port, a pair of USB 2.0, HDMI, mini VGA, HP / MIC ports and an RJ 45 network connector (three-in-one). The screen is a 13.3-inch 10-finger multi-touch in Full HD resolution. The laptop will be available in two options: with an Intel Core i7 processor or Core i5 ULV. AMD HD8570M (with 1 GB of GDDR3 video memory) is responsible for graphic matters, and up to 16 GB of RAM for speed.
Also equipped with a laptop solid state drive (up to 256 GB). The battery promises to live up to 8 hours offline, and the laptop starts in just 6 seconds. The pre-installed OS is still the same Windows 8.
This model will be delivered in a version with a 4G module to use a high-speed LTE connection. The keyboard backlight, a spacious clickpad and a built-in HD camera above the screen are in this model.
