Eric Schmidt: “Google Fiber is not an experiment, but a real business”

Google CEO Eric Schmidt made an interesting statement at yesterday's The New York Times Dealbook. The statement concerned the current project of the company, Google Fiber, which is considered by many as an experiment, interesting, but not very realistic in terms of a business project. Schmidt said that in fact, everything is a little different.
According to Eric Schmidt, "this is not an experiment, but a real business, and we are now deciding where to go / expand further." Unfortunately, more was not said about this, but it can be understood that the corporation will not stop at what has been achieved (Kansas City connection). As previously stated, other cities in the United States will connect to the Google Fiber network, and then, if possible, countries.
And yes, the news was already published on Habré that Google is planning to become also a mobile operator. Negotiations are underway with Dish Networks, and the topic of negotiations is a joint project for wireless data transmission. In general, Google is not only negotiating with this company, so it’s clear that in a couple of years we can see Dobra Corporation in a completely new role for itself - a provider of fixed / fiber and wireless communications.
This area of activity is quite profitable for the company, mainly because Google seeks to get rid of the restrictions of mobile operators, which are trying in every possible way to limit the traffic generated by services from Google. As for Google Fiber, this is also one of the ways to solve the problem of restrictions on data transmission over fixed lines, and the method is very effective.
