Microsoft launched a Bing ad campaign criticizing Google

Microsoft took the next step against Google by launching an Don't Get Scroogled ad campaign, which apparently means “don't get screwed over by Google” (don't let Google use you).

Microsoft has launched the Scroogled website , where Google is accused of dishonest practice of ranking results for money in a Google Shopping search engine. Apparently, this refers to the decision made by Google earlier this year to show only paid ads from Google Shopping in the main Google search results, writes Mashable. Previously, both paid and free ads were shown there.

“Of course, they say that the results of the SERP are sorted by relevance, but in fact, Google is selling its shopping SERP,” the video posted on the Scroogled website says. “They trick you into determining relevance by how much they were paid. Do not let you use, you may miss out on top quality products at the best prices. ” The page then invites users to try out the Bing search engine for shopping.

A Google spokesperson responded to a request for comment only that Google is "an excellent resource for customers to let them find what they need." Here is the full statement:

“Google Shopping allows shoppers to quickly find what they are looking for, compare different products and connect with sellers to make a purchase. With new 360-degree interactive product photos, social shopping lists, and a fast-growing list of over a billion products worldwide, Google is an excellent resource for customers to find what they need at great prices for their loved ones this holiday season. ”

At the same time, TechCrunch drew attention to the fact that there are questions to Bing’s own issuance. Bing recently began working with eBay's Shopping.com. If Bing used to accept their own channels from sellers for inclusion in the issuance, now the company says that it does not accept new sellers for this program. Instead, says Bing, sellers should work with Shopping.com. That is, Bing is just a platform for placing Shopping.com data.
