The Oliver Twins Launches Dizzy Returns Project

On Habré, the news that the Oliver brothers opened a fundraiser on the Kickstarter for the new game Dizzy Returns. The event, it would seem, is ordinary today. The generation of gamers of the 80s and 90s grew up, acquired money, and the market for retro games, eight-bit T-shirts and all kinds of remakes began to grow by leaps and bounds. However, not everything is so casual. At least a little reflection, for the first time in my life, I did not just express moral support for the project, but I was not too lazy to go on a kickstarter and donate some real money.

Firstly, the project will be written not by any licensed subcontractor or hired remaker, but by the brothers themselves with their company. Secondly, it is planned not just the next part of Dizzy with new graphics and other gadgets, but a completely new game, qualitatively different from all previous ones, equally interesting for both retro gamers and the new generation.

And thirdly ... I want to do without unnecessary pathos, but still, think about it. You can help The Oliver Twins themselves release a new Dizzy game. There was something almost unreal in this, which was impossible to imagine when you yourself played some kind of Fantasy World Dizzy. This is an almost historical event when, after twenty years, the creators of the original game are ready to get back to work. Themselves. The same composition, the same talents. This is most likely the only chance for the success of the project. If they don’t collect the money now, they probably will not try it for the second time.

Yes, and many here are close to the idea of supporting the authors of their favorite computer program. Let's face it, in Russia there is a whole army of Dizzy lovers (how many remixes of Dizzy were released with us? ..), and the brothers from the whole army in terms of money got an absolute zero. Even if you have a good idea for the new part of the game (we all remember about Duke), just go to the project website and thank The Oliver Twins for our happy childhood :)
