Lumix LX7 vs Nokia 808 PureView vs iPhone 4s

Recently, a Chinese pilot, Dzhao, drove into the club of my Moscow youth recently in the middle of the night. Yes, and something kind of pained me from painfully familiar interiors, I decided to photograph them with all the photo gadgets I had with me. And with me I had: one of the best smartphone cameras - iPhone 4s, the recent Panasonic Lumix LX7 model with excellent Leica optics, and, of course, the super-mega-camera of all time Nokia 808 PureView. The results of the comparative photo-test can be seen under the habrakat.

As usual, I will not impose my opinion, but in my opinion the superiority of Nokia 808 PureView is obvious. And the point here is not at all the notorious 41 megapixels. The Nokia 808 was shot in PureView mode and the file was created as when shooting with an 8 megapixel camera. No manual settings were applied in any of the cases. Intelligent automatic mode iA was set on Lumix LX7, iPhone 4s also shot as shot - its camera, as you know, has no settings at all, this option is provided in iOS by third-party developers.

So, in my opinion, the superiority of the Nokia 808 PureView is obvious, and the point is not in megapixels, but only in software algorithms for processing light information. I have long noticed that Pureview works very efficiently with light, capturing all the nuances of shadows and thereby creating space and atmosphere both in photography and in video shooting. As a result, lately I have been especially interested in black-and-white shooting on the Nokia 808, where, respectively, the work of light and shadow is especially visible. A post on this topic is yet to come, because black-and-white shooting on the Nokia 808 PureView really deserves special attention.

I especially disappointed in this comparative test iPhone 4S, which I considered, and in part I continue to consider one of the best mobile cameras. Nevertheless, he showed absolutely disregard for light and colors, although the photosensitivity is on top, but on the other hand, the photosensitivity of photosensitivity is different, as they say.

As for the Lumix LX7 in the intelligent automatic mode, although it produced a good result, I still expected the best. However, these are only my first trials with this device, so there will still be pictures from it and its separate review, which he certainly deserves.
