Synology® Announces DiskStation DS713 +

imageSynology Inc. Introduces DiskStation DS713 +, a Scalable 2-Port NAS Server Providing Small and Medium-Sized Business Users with High-Performance Storage Solutions

The key difference between the DS713 + and the previous model is the switch to a dual-core processor with a frequency of 2.13 GHz. With the activated aggregation of Ethernet ports, the drive reads data at a speed of 202.3 MB / s and writes data at a speed of 135.84 MB / s under a RAID 1 configuration in a Windows environment. In addition, the DS713 + is optimized for use with large-scale video surveillance systems and supports simultaneous recording of 20 channels with high resolution.

The NAS is equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, which provide data transfer speeds 10 times higher than USB 2.0. To ensure uninterrupted access to stored data, the DS713 + is equipped with front-mounted slides with hot-swappable HDDs and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which in combination increases system fault tolerance.

The presence in DS713 + of full iSCSI support and virtualization enables the user to build a comprehensive storage solution based on all major server platforms, including VMware vSphere 5 VAAI, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V. The storage server integrates seamlessly into a business environment that supports LDAP, Windows AD, and ACL.
