Black Isle Studios revived

So, the legendary Black Isle studio, which ended its history in 2003, gets the opportunity to reaffirm itself. Interplay announced that it is reviving the studio to create AAA-games using new features that were not available to developers ten years ago. Interplay boss Erv Kain said the studio will create games based on the intellectual property of Interplay. In the past, Black Isle Studios has developed iconic games such as Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate and Fallout (Bethesda owns Fallout rights). The company also plans the possible transfer of some games to mobile platforms.

But in the camp of the old guard of Black Isle no one knows about anything. The colony of natives of the islanders on the volcano Obsidian Entertainment is not yet aware of what it is about. Chris Avellone, Fergus Urkhart and Tim Kane said they were not related to the Interplay initiative. Brian Fargo, the former head of Interplay, said he did not have enough information for any comment.
