Instagram for Android “will be even better in some ways than for iOS”

At the SXSW conference yesterday, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom confirmed the December announcement of the Instagram app for Android and added that it will be released very soon. The beta version of Instagram for Android is currently undergoing closed testing. Kevin Systrom shared his impression of working with the Android version of the program and said that "it is in some ways even better than the version for iOS, it is incredible."

Kevin also added that the number of registered Instagram users exceeded 27 million, so the previously made assessment of Instagram as the world's largest social network on a mobile platform is really fair.
