US Senators Refuse to Support SOPA after Wikipedia Protest

Eight US lawmakers refused to support SOPA after thousands of sites around the world stopped working on Wednesday. According to experts, now the bill will not pass, because among the senators who refused were Marco Rubio and Roy Blunt - the most ardent supporters of the bill.

Marco Rubio, who is a “rising star” in the Republican Party, wrote on Facebook that he and other senators “heard constructive questions about the impact of the bill on Internet access.”

Let me remind you that WordPress, Google , Reddit and many other sites joined the Wikipedia protest on Wednesday , and Mark Zuckerberg called SOPA a poorly thought-out bill.

Major Hollywood film studios advocate the adoption of the controversial bill in the United States, while many Silicon Valley companies are against.
