BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810, 9860 review - prospects?

The mobile market has long been run by two giants - Apple and Google. Slowly Microsoft is also approaching them, but what about the rest? What role does, for example, RIM play? A month ago, the Canadian company introduced three new devices on the “fresh” BlackBerry OS 7: Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and 9860. Your attention is a video and text review.

The share of BlackBerry, mainly for the RIM American market, fell over the 4 years from 50% to 15%, despite the fact that the Canadian company’s share in the world grew from 9 , 6% to a little over 12%. The first of these devices is the BlackBerry Torch 8910. The phone replaced the old "torch" - 9800. Outwardly, both devices are the same, but the hardware is different. The new product on board has a dual-core processor with a frequency of 1 GHz, a display with a resolution of 600x480 and a camera with the ability to record HD-video, face recognition and image stabilization. But the most important feature is BlackBerry OS 7.



What is remarkable about the new OS? Firstly, it has an updated user interface, an improved browser, and simplified management for communication services and programs. In addition, the OS has support for voice search. At one time, BlackBerry OS became even better for business solutions and “prettier” in appearance. BlackBerry 7, coupled with powerful "pieces of iron" gives unprecedented results, the device works very quickly. BlackBerry engineers and programmers should be praised for this.

Probably the most popular model from the new 7-series from BlackBerry is the Bold 9900.



The device case is made of plastic and metal with a real carbon insert on the back of the device.

It is worth emphasizing that moment that the RIM company defines the Bold 9900 as the most powerful of smartphones that they have ever created, although it is not different from the model 9810 or 9860 in the filling or in the software component. The updated Bold has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 640x480. This, by the way, 287 pixels per inch is almost Retina.

The Bold 9900 is the ideal machine for business. The price, of course, is not small (in the region of 30 thousand rubles), but I will say bluntly - the device is worth it. The quality of materials, especially carbon, plus BlackBerry OS 7 make this device a weapon for the business environment. Of course, do not forget about the company's services, such as BBM and BlackBerry Balance (a new application in OS 7 that helps the user to separate work content from personal content.)

The third device is BlackBerry Torch 9860, it is a full-fledged touch-smartphone. The phone’s screen size is 3.7 inches with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. In history, the BlackBerry is the largest display.



A rather big screen and a powerful graphic chip make the new console with a wide range of multimedia capabilities. Such a device will be interesting to people of any age. But in fact, it does not seem to me that this device is not exactly what BlackBerry needs - without a keyboard, the feeling is a little different ...



So far, RIM has not provided any data on the sale of smartphones, but while browsing through western portals, I managed to see the love of loyal fans and new individuals who wish to purchase a BlackBerry.
